It's taken a while, but today I found the silver lining in having to repack everything, 3 days after finally having unpacked it all from moving in February!

My kitchen is now better organized than it was before.  I had 7 months to figure out what worked in my kitchen and what didn't.  Plus because I know where things go, the unpacking has been faster.

Today I went to Walmart and bought some of those wire shelves that you put in your cupboard so you can stack things.  So much nicer now not having to pull down all of my casserole dishes just so I can get one to use.  I now have them stacked in 2 layers.  I did the same with my plates, bowls and cups too.

I also took the opportunity to pack up my fancy tea cups, saucers, fancy drink glasses etc.  I don't use any of it and I'd rather have the kitchen cupboard space for things that I do use. One day I'll get a small china cabinet where I can display those things.

I also invested in some more smaller storage bins. I bought one for medications. I put all of my medicaitons out for the month, including all of my vitamin and supplements.  So in between I don't really need to have them in the kitchen cupboard.  They are now in a storage bin which I'll keep on the shelf in my bedroom. And I have one for instruction manuals for various electronics. Amazing how they pile up over the years.

My old apartment was a one bedroom, and very difficult to keep clean because of the clutter.  And since this second bed bug scare, I decided that I want to keep as much off the floor in my bedrooms as I possibly can.  So I've gotten rid of my wire shoe rack, and my shoes are now hanging in a shoe bag on the back of my bedroom door.

In my old apartment and until now, my purses and wallets have been in my dresser drawers. Now  they are in a shelf hanging from the rod in my bedroom closet.  Easy to get to and now I have more dresser drawers.

I also bought a bin for my pictures. I'm terribly with pictures and don't have photo albums. They're all tossed into a box. I also bought a bin to make a first aid kit so that I can neaten up my toiletry shelf in my linen closet.  Plus I don't have a medicine cabinet so the shelf is looking rather junky.

And finally, I put some metal cookie/biscuit tins to use.  One for my hot roller clips, another for my hair clips and headbands, and a smaller one for bobbie pins and styling clips.  The tins are nicely organized in my vanity drawer.

I think I might be over doing it in the organization department, but I think I'm a bit OCD right now because I've lived in clutter and various states of being packed for so long. I just want to go back to having a place for everything, and that showroom look that I like so much.
