My friend took her female cat into get fixed last Friday. Well the vet is closed on weekends so she can't just call that vet right now. No vet will be open till Tuesday.

Any way she just wants to know if this looks normal for a cat spay?

What is it that is concerning you?  There is a little bit of bruising, which is to be expected, and there is usually some swelling.  You need to look for redness and/or discharge and how the cat is behaving (lethargic/ in pain etc), but the wound looks ok.  If, however, the swelling is getting greater, then it needs to be checked.

Keep in mind that it's difficult to tell from a picture, and if you're in great doubt, then a trip to the vet is really important.

Yes, that looks pretty good. What are you concerned about? A little bruising is normal. The lump is also normal---it's the body reacting to the internal sutures. And it doesn't look red or infected.

Was it this past Friday the 31st or the 24th? I would not call myself an expert, but it looks ok to me if the spay was recent.

Are those dissolvable stitches? If it was 2 weeks ago, I would be a concerned about the swelling.

How is the cat acting? active? sleeping? eating? regular stools & urination?

I hope someone else can chime in.
