From the NY Times on-line:

"West Hollywood, which in 2003 became the first city in the country to prohibit the declawing of cats (soon followed by a ban on the purchase of puppy-mill puppies), has a first-in-the-nation ordinance barring the sale of fur beginning next September."

Jeffrey Prang, West Hollywood’s mayor said “We are approached by these kinds of groups all the time,” Mr. Prang said, noting that prohibitions of cat declawing have spread across the country."

  I still cannot believe that there are vets who perform declawing; it's barbaric!

OH I LOVE West Hollywood then. That is just great to here and I only with that this would follow suit to many, many, many other cities in this country. :cross:
