Something similar is happening to us. I noticed, too late, that one of the kittens was not well. She died. I watched the others closely and have two that are not as active as they had been. Using a syringe, I push kitten milk and tuna oil or broth mix. Also, water every hour. Maple syrup drop or two every 3 hours (or so) to keep their blood sugar up.

One of the kittens actually ate solid food last night, but this morning we are lethargic again. I am thinking this is a bacterial infection? Mama had an upset stomach a few weeks back. No fevers.

Going to the vet is not possible until Tuesday. I will start kitten glop today. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

They are about 4 weeks now?

About food, you can melt down some butter with this kitten milk.  Some little kitchen salt with this water.

Half a teaspoon in a litre perhaps.

There are several other possible improvements, but I suppose you are giving them what you do have and it depends of course also on what shops are open now at your place.    WHERE do you live?

What you are giving them should be OK. Main thing is you do manage to give them.  I understand you are fighting on the hardest and best you can.

This means also, mom is not giving them any longer?

How is the temperatures? Not cold, not too hot?  Both are  taking forces from them.

Better you start a new tread, I think.  Ie, I shall ask a mod to move your post and start a new tread,

Hope it is OK with you.

Welcome to our Forums!

Good luck!    *vibes*

Threads merged. Jeannie3's reply:

Kittens are 61/2 weeks. All were eating fine first 6 weeks. Mama still nursing them - the ones with appetittes are eating.
I'm making the Glop now. Butter is a new suggestion! Good for fat.
We live in New Mexico, USA. Temp is comfortable and controlled.
I am pushing fluids.
One minute I'm optimistic, then worried, lol. Will keep you posted.
Thanks for the input!

UPDATE:

Kittens had up and downs... but are seemingly bouncing back nice. They are starting to play again, but tire easily.

The last two days I have pushed pushed pushed the kitten glop. Even the healthy other 3 were being stuffed, lol.

Mama loves the stuff too. Figured it couldn't hurt ;)

Their stools are not liquid anymore, but mushy. Wow, kittens can crash fast - it is very satisfying to see them now. I know they still need round the clock care, but I'm optimistic.

Mama escaped a few weeks back for a couple of hours. I'm thinking she brought back something intestinal. She was a feral cat, and just gets a hankering to push out the plexi-glass next to the air-conditioner and go hunting. Ironically though... she comes back to use the kitty box!! LOL

Please make sure to secure her properly until spayed, she can get pregnant now if she's not already having been out for several hours
