I got up today and Trixie is drooling a lot, like dog slobber, as in its stringy drool hanging from her mouth. She can't close her mouth properly and she keeps hiding and wont let me stroke her. I have booked her in the vets this afternoon but is there anything I can do until then to help her? My housemates cat has just had a cold but it doesn't look like the same symptoms at all. Any advice on how worried I need to be would be great also.

Is there anything she could have gotten into that she shouldn't have? Toxic plants, etc?

We don't have any plant in the house because she has always tended to chew on them so we got rid of them all. She doesn't go outside so if it is something she has eaten its from in the house but I cant find anything she might have nibbled on.

Just gave her some wet food to see how she is and the drooling seems to have stopped and she eat like normal, she let me have a look in her mouth and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong in there. She is back to acting like normal. Should I still take her in to the vet anyway or hope it was just a passing strangeness?

Forgot to update this.

So the vet said it looks like a throat infection, gave her her boosters she was due about now and some antibiotics and some extra smelly food. He thinks it is probably viral since my housemates cat is just getting over a cold and today Pixie has started sneezing a lot and her eyes are running and she has been drooling a little but she has always been a drooler when she is relaxed/sleeping so I'm not too worried. The vet says that the other two should be fine and their immune system should fight it off, they are due their boosters next month but if it gets worse to take them in.

Obviously I know I can't give the other two the antibiotics the vet gave me for Trixie but does anyone know any ways to help relive the symptoms of a cat cold?
