Cat being away for nest

My cat delivered 4 kittens a week ago , and she s been giving them milk but sometime she goes out and rest ... is that normal? i dont feel like she s giving them enough milk but they are growing ( she has 2 nipples that doesnt produces milk) . i have kitten powder milk if i gave them this milk does they stop taking milk from there mother because i wont the 2 of us to give milk i wil give them with a bottle .

Her going out to another room and rest [ a little ] is normal.  I do hope you are not letting her out of the house?

It may be difficult to see if they have enough milk. The only sure way to know is to weigh them every day at the same time.  Use a scale in grammes.

If you are fairly sure they do gain weigh, it should be OK.

If you are fairly sure they dont gain weigh - you should give them extra.

Mothers milk IS best. And

Yes, there IS some danger if they get used to bottle, they wont eat from mom - as it is easier to suckle from bottle than from mom...

But if they must have extra, so they must, cant be helped as they may die.

so you see, it is difficult to give sure advices from distance - you must decide yourself if they do get more weigh every day, or not...

Your english is OK, and you shall know, although most forumists here are from USA, this is an international forum. Many participants, and also many of us advisors, mods, mentors, dont have english as our mother languages.   Not me for example, english being my third language.

a kitten that im caring for for my local spca was pregnant when i took her in she had 4 babies 3wks ago n after just 3 days she use to come out of the crate for some rest n a bit of as they say me time this is quite normal i am also looking after a kitten that was abandon by its mother at a wk old he is now 6wks old i bottle feed him and he weighs less than the ones that the kitten had yet ther only 3wks old she will tend to them on a very regularly n when you take into account they need feeding every 2hrs so a bit of a rest for her is goood as that way she isnt getting stressed when the babies was a week old she use to come upstairs o the odd occasion n eat with my own cats just make sure there is plenty of food near her n water
