E-Collar and being unattended

My cat has a sore under his chin that he won't leave alone no matter what I put on it, so I bought an e-collar yesterday. My question is this my job requires me to be gone for 2 or 3 days at a time and I don't know if he can be left alone with an e-collar on. I would leave Wednesday morning and be back Friday morning. I am in the military and am unsure if my supervisors would let me bring my cat to station and having no family around I am left with few options. He seems to be adjusting well to the collar and there isn't much around the house that he can get stuck under or too. Any insight would be welcome.
