It's only fitting that after I've already found myself feeling christmasy after watching elf a couple weeks ago and Secret Santa sign ups have begun........

The question is how do you get info the Christmas spirit?

Christmas?? I don't even want to think about Christmas. Not yet. Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas, I adore Christmas and everything about Christmas. Just not before Halloween (or Labor Day, as the case may be).

It's too early to think about Christmas! I usually don't get into the spirit until Advent, and even then it takes me awhile. I guess seeing the decorations people put up puts me in a Christmasy mood.

I don't do Christmas until Thanksgiving is over.  I do however pick up gifts here and there during the year, make a list of the gifts, wrap them and put them on a closet shelf.  Most of the time, I don't have to shop during the holidays.  I hate going to the stores then.  But as for gettting in the spirit of it, I think I do that by hearing the beautiful Christmas music, traditional on the radio and the gospel Christmas songs at church.  I like to keep my mind on the reason for the season and it is not shopping.

It always finds me.  LOL  I used to decorate the day after Thanksgiving every year.  It's gotten harder in recent years; but I do love it.  I put on Christmas music and movies and enjoy!

I have to wait until after thanksgiving to really get in the mood, but as soon as that pumpkin pie is down the hatch, look out!

Over the river and through the woods...
DH gets me in the spirit every year by decorating outside. This is at least a 2-3 week project. It starts the day after Thanksgiving and the first store we hit (black friday sales) is Lowe's to see what new decorations they have on sale. Then the decorating begins. We have a "Mr. Christmas" music thing where you can program the outside lights to blink in time with the music so it's pretty cool. Of course, by the time Christmas rolls around I'm so sick of Christmas music because I hear it constantly playing outside!

I'm not anywhere near a Christmassy mood yet, although I am kind of looking forward to fall. The garden is about done, I'm all "pooled" out and now I want colored leaves, pumpkins and sweatshirts. Give me time to work my way into Christmas and winter!

I've pretty much been listening to Christmas music a little bit since June lol! :lol3: I love that time of year! I start designing towards the end of Summer for Christmas time, so I suppose that helps get me in the Christmas mood too. :)

Putting up the decorations usually gets me in the holiday mood. You can't wait until you are in the mood, though, to shop here there won't be anything good left.

I did some Christmas shopping a week ago because I noticed that Bolen Books has great stocking-stuffers that no way will be there in November or December, once items are sold they don't get replaced.

I got a lot of cranky comments from other shoppers and even the checkout person at Costco a few weeks ago, for having a roll of Christmas wrap in my cart! It was a super deal, $15 for some crazy amount of wrap, like 100 meters or something. It's also reversible so it coordinates with itself. Boy people were so negative when they saw that wrapping paper.
