A stray cat showed up at my door 35 days ago. her belly was already big and my first thought was that she was pregnant. i gently felt her belly and could feel lumps about the size of walnuts. after countless hours of reading on this site i came to the assumption that she was at least 4 weeks along when i found her???

If you counted right it should be soon now yes, 28+35 and you are in the "delivery zone".  Do you feel the kittens move?  You can usually feel them moving from about 14 days before.

But the exact day is still a guess.

Keep us updated and keep on asking!

Good luck!

I have had callie foq exactly 6 weeks today and still no babies yet. is it possible that she was not at least 3 weeks along when she showed up? i felt the walnut size lumps them. babies are active and shes huge. still no nesting behavior. this waiting is killing me. anyone have any idea how much longer from the above info?

The 'walnut lumps' are best felt at 28 days, I'd give her a few more days and vet check her to be sure all is ok

Anyday now, but the exact day is very difficult to say.  Even if you apparently know when she did mated.

"The waiting game" as they say is a typical pastime for many forumites here!    :)

65 days is average, but up to 70 is still considered normal.

I am having these same problems! Overdue and showing no signs as far as I can tell! It really is torture! I also hate seeing her so uncomfortable. She is constantly laying down and flip flopping then trying somewhere else - I feel so bad! I can see the babies poking her from across the room! My poor baby!! Hope we all have kittens by the end of the week!! Find them safe homes also, and then got our cats neutered! As I have read on this site many have done what I did and took in a stray! So many cats in this world need good homes!! OK Good luck to everyone!! Picture of Aurora mid pregnancy!

When i felt the lumps she was really big then but of course she is huge now! her belly looked saggy back then also. im wondering if she had a litter that she weaned before i got her. would that account for the large size of her belly then. i also would like to add that the walnut lumps were slightly larger than quarters.

I also have 2 beautiful bobtail mink cats. one is female. both got fixed last month and rumpie the female seems really sad since then. she never had a litter. when callie has her babies could it help rumpie to overcome her sadness or would it make her worse? i will be keeping 1 of the babies so should i let her bond with it early?

She may just not be ready yet. I know you said she is 65 days but it can be up to 70 before there is cause for concern- some Moms don't nest until they are ready to give birth. Also, just because you have the nest box for her doesnt mean she will use it, especially if there is a more attractive place (i.e. somewhere dark, covered, and quiet) that she can find. Try to eliminate those places (think under the bed, closets, and the like) to make her nest box extra attractive, and make sure the box is dark, covered, and in a quiet place. And, just because most cats nest doesn't mean yours will. It's a common sign but not foolproof. Just watch for changes in her behavior even if they are not "typical"- you will know when it's time.
