My cat Luna has terrible allergies, I had her tested and she is allergic to MANY things, but my main problem is her food. I was able to purchase an air purifier etc which has helped with the environmental allergies, but I cant seem to find a food that works for her. My vet put her on Prescrption Diet Z/D, but she hates it. Most of the limited ingrediant diets still contain some things that she is allergic to. Can anyone suggest a food that does not contain any of the following:

Rabbit

Yeast

Milk

Pork

Lamb

Potato

Pea

Barley

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Have you tried Tiki Cat? lt's expensive here in Canada - $2.49 a can so l don't buy it often, but the 2 chicken flavours and some of the fish flavours have barely any ingredients.

Here's a link to their chicken & egg flavour, you can scroll through the others from there.

l can't think of any others off the top of my head.

I don't care how expensive it is, I would do anything to make her feel better and get my happy cat back. Thank you so much for your suggestion!!!

I recommend a RAW diet--beef, veal, deer, buffalo, goat, chicken.  Yeah, not what a cat would normally hunt for in the wild, but cats are obligate carnovoires.  Going with Raw you have ultimate control over what Luna will eat.  You can even try whole prey (can't imagine a cat would be allergic to mice).

You can search on line for commercial raw that have single source protein and check out the Raw feed for cats forum for lots of other ideas.

I transitioned Ritz to Raw because the ONLY food she would eat was Fancy Feast Classic, seafood.  And I mean ONLY.  On Raw, she'll eat any kind of meat, including goat.

Good luck!

I'm such an animal lover which puts me between a rock and a hard place. I want nothing more that for her to be healthy and happy, but the thought of mice etc breaks my heart. I had a ferret with cancer years ago and that it what the vets recommended, so I tried frozen mice and the little guy actually pulled the mouse into his hammock and cuddled with it. Definitely MY pet :) Thank you for your suggestions, I am going to research that now, I need to deal with the situation at hand and that is to get her healthy, she had such a rough start to life, I owe her that much! Thanks again so much!!

Yeah, I kind of know what you mean.  I walk for fitness and relaxation and I sometimes see deer and bunny rabbits.  And then I think Food and Ritz.

I would also like to add my vote to raw -- with the comment that my cat, Kramer, cannot eat any canned cat food with turkey anything in it, or he throws up. But he can eat raw turkey just fine.
