Sky is making great progress on socialization. The key to getting her to really open up is pure bites treats. She loves them, she will walk up to me and sit in front of me. She eats them out of my fingers and will lick my fingers to get the crumbs. tonight she was even tapping me with her paw and pulling my hand to her with the treat. After she has had several treats I can reach out and pet her. She will eat groom and go abouthongs as if I am not sitting there. She bolts from wherever she is to her sage spot when I first come in the room, but she comes around after I sit down and start talking to her and pull out the treats.

Sky also has a new roommate, named Felix. She is not as feral as Sky was so she should hopefully come around soon. She is about 4 months old. She is confidant to do whatever with me around, she just doesn't have the trust Sky has formed with me yet. The two of them share the safe spot together and they groom each other. I think Sky enjoys having the constant company.

Edit:
I need to stop maEqking post on my phone I just realized it did something funny with the title, I do know how to spell update.

:lol3: You and your phone posts :lol2: !! SO HAPPY to hear that Sky is coming along :clap::clap::clap: That is great progress actually!! AND having Felix might help her come out a bit more too. I love those Pure Bites too. Great enticements for the kitties. They all seem to love those treats. If you can - I would love to see a new picture of Sky. :rub: :D

As soon as I get my computer fixed I will put up a new picture of Sky, unless I figure out a way to do it from my phone first. :lol3:

She is a pretty girl. She has filled out nicely. Her eyes are big, especially for such a little girl. I'm so proud of how well she is doing. I was told she could never be tamed with her not being a kitten. I know it is going to take more time but she is coming around nicely. Maybe in a few months or so if she is ready she will be brave enough to venture out of the bathroom and have even more space. I don't want to rush it and have her come out and go into hiding and lose all the hard work.

Maybe next time I will try to get some pictures of her out of her safe spot under the sink so you can see her better. She just loves it under there.

AW hun, I do not believe that :nono: Whoever told you that is WRONG. She is already taking treats from your hand - right?! I think I remember you saying that. What I would recommend is to keep her in her safe room until such time that you are able to pet her - at least pet her head :lol3: The more bonding you can create in that small space will filter out into to the other part of the house once you open up her room. Yes - there are some feral cats that will never want that connection with a human. I don't think Sky is one of those. Will she ever be a lap cat? or a cat that loves petting? Maybe not. Heck - my Perla rarely allows me to pet her. AND she was socialized as a kitten. So you see - they are all very, very different. I do not believe in "labeling" or "categorizing" feral cats and kittens according to their age. Nope. It is their inherent personality IMO. Keep up the great, great work!! You are AWESOME!!:clap::clap: :heart3:
