is this normal?

weve been noticing that Masquerade doesnt close her mouth all the way....ever. its always a little bit open and often times she is sticking her tounge out....just wondering if that isjust one of her many  odd behaviors, if her teeth might be too big or if it is an indication of something not so healthy. it also causes some serious kitty snoring.

i do know cats open there mouths to really take in a scent, but i doubt she is doing that all the time, unless my apartment just smells THAT good.

My Jack does that sometimes, but lf l talk to him he shuts it.

He's usually concentrating on something when he does it

Its kinda cute when cats do that.

I'm wondering in my girl has an overbite =/

I would say to rule out anything nasty, I'd have a vet check your kitty over.  Could be an abcess or a cut tongue or gum...., tooth issues. just for safety sake.

She's got a vet visit coming up soon, ill make sre they check it out. She has been doing this before she got her adult teeth in and I forgot about it when w took her for the flea treatment...
If she is staring at me, often times she will just stick her tounge out. She does that when sleeping too

A lot of cats will do that and it is perfectly normal.  That said, it is also an indication something might possibly be wrong.  Like a bad tooth etc.  If you're concerned about it, contact your vet to see what they think.  If Masquerade had always done this it's probably just part of the kitty cat personality
 

:lol3: Lucky always has his mouth hanging open and his tongue hanging out! It's so cute. He's been checked out by Dr. Sonia lately too, she says he's in perfect health!

oh phew ok ^^ at least its not just her. she has a VERY eccentric/ goofy kinda personality. and is seems a little off sometimes, i was really hoping this was just another quirk that came with the Masquerade package. ^^
