Allergies can be a tough thing to deal with, as there are so many potential allergens out there, and allergy testing is not always conclusive. When I've had cats with hair loss like that in the past and after I've ruled out causes other than allergies, I start ruling potential causes out one by one. The first thing I always look at is food allergies. Many cats are allergic to wheat and corn grains that are in commercial food, and after that other ingredients like chicken or fish. Take a look at the ingredients that you are feeding and try eliminating some of those ingredients to see if it helps.

If you rule out food allergies, then look around your environment for other things you might have put there right before the allergies started. I had a dog that was allergic to a wool rug that I purchased and never realized it until that rug wore out and I took it out of the house. His allergies cleared up immediately.

If you can't afford vet visits, then you are limited to using this method, and it does take a LONG time to work thru it.

Good luck.
