IDK if he would come to me. There is a technique called "simply sitting" which entails sitting in the area you have spotted the cat, quietly, possibly calling his name softly and/or shaking a treat bag every few minutes. And of course, not to lunge for him, but if he comes up, stay still... and wait til you have a 200 pct chance of grabbing him GOOD and hang on ...get him into the house or a carrier.Definitely food in the trap. If you're going to stay up, you probably don't need the camera as long as you're awake. Do you think he'll come to you outdoors? Could you sit in a garage or car?
If I cannot trap him I may have to do this... and even if it's 1:30 in the morning, he will go right to the vet b/c I do not want fleas in the house. And I would be concerned that he is dehydrated ( it's been anywhere from 75 to 86 degrees fahrenheit during the day around here), get him some subQ fluids if needed... checked for ticks, and other parasites.
