I had bought this food as an alternative for my parents to feed when I went on vacation. My cats are currently on grain free canned, a little kibble and raw every few meals. They are still deciding whether they like it or not. Some days it is gone, the next I have to throw it out. Anyways, I am concerned about the ash content of this dry food. It is 12%! Higher than even EVO. Now  I know that ash isn't going to cause UTI, but it won't help and I don't feel comfortable feeding that much ash. Usually higher ash is found when lower quality ingredients aka meat are used so I am surprised that it is found at that percentage in this brand. Now I also know that higher ash is found in the grain free foods, but even EVO  which has the highest protein content of all the dryfoods has a lower ash and magnesium content. I believe it is like 8 percent but I don't have a bag with me. Anyways, I know the ash uti myth is somewhat outdated and it is a combo of things that cause uti's, but I  also think 12% is a little high. As a side note, on my dog forums, someones bichon got diagnosed with crystals after being on this food (the dog version with the same amount of ash) for 3 months. Kinda scary. I feed lots of canned and some raw. Kibbles are only a small portion of the diet, but still kinda scary.

I wouldn't be too worried. I have a friend, Marietta, who has fed her cat NV kibble, canned and raw all his life, and he's done great, despite the ash content.
