Hi, I just found this site because I have been frantically looking for answers as to what is going on with my manx cat named Bob.  He was bit by something about a week ago just above his bum which ended up in infection.  He went to the vet who put him to sleep long enough to open the wound and clean it out,  He was then given a healthy dose of injectable antibiotic that will keep working for I think they said 3 weeks, but don't quote me... maybe 2 weeks.  I was amazed an animal could get that kind of dose safely but I guess it's a normal practice now.  And he was wormed.  That was yesterday.

I had to keep him calm and inside in a quiet room for 24 hours and that was no problem. He was doing much better today and when I finally let him out of the room he didn't want to come out. He just laid on the blanket where he had been sleeping.  I was sure he would want to dart outside at the fist chance. But no.  But he was happy to see me and talked to me and let me know he was  feeling better.  (?)   He came upstairs and hung around after a while, being more talkitive than normal.  Then he had the "cramp"  (?) in his right front leg which made it go straight out in front of him.  It made him cry in pain and he fell over and was obviously in agony.  I rubbed the muscles and got the leg from straight postion to bent and the cramp seemed to go away.  But from then on it was happening about every 5 minutes.  Was it the heavy dose antibiotics or the worming or both together?  He has never had this kind of problem before that surgery.  He is a ferral that adopted us 6 years ago and it just hurts my soul to think he is in pain.  Please, if anyone has any davise I sure would love to hear it.  Thanks for readin this.
