Easy question this morning: What are your plans for this weekend?

We are meeting with the kitchen guru tomorrow morning, followed by a day of shopping and then dinner. We're going to a concert Saturday night: Edgar Winter, Johnny Winter, Rick Derringer, and Leslie West (Mountain). This is more Rick's thing than mine.....I'm just going along for the ride, more than anything. Rick has always liked Edgar Winter and really likes Frankenstein. I always liked Mississippi Queen. Should be an interesting night. And Sunday is just housework and garden stuff.

So what are you doing this weekend?

We are going to a pool party tomorrow, but it's not supposed to be very warm and it is supposed to rain. I doubt I will be swimming even if it doesn't because my bathing suit is too small since I am 26 weeks pregnant. I don't want to buy a new one just to go swimming once.

On Sunday, my mom and sister are coming for a visit and we might go to the movies.

Nothing exciting here - have to get a tank of water for the barn, and clean the water trough, and IF i feel energetic might head to the city and meet a friend for brunch on Sunday. Otherwise, just waiting for the plane to come and spray dessicant on the lentils. The real work starts after the plane comes and does that as it is going to be time to start harvest..

I'm home today, cooking and cleaning for the party we're hosting tomorrow. It was supposed to be a cook-out, but,due to rain, will now be a cook-in!

Starting today, I am going to see my baby at the Vet's when I get off of work. I miss him terribly!!   I haven't seen him sense I took him in Wednesday night!!

(details of why he is there is in my thread, Had to Rush Angel to the Vet's)

I always have to work on Saturdays until 2:00. Tomorrow I have my hair appointment after. Then , I will probably just be hanging out at home,

trying to relax, & praying for Angel to be able to come home Monday!!  Sunday is supposed to be a rainy, stormy day, so I'll probably make it

a movie day!!

No fixed plans other than doing stuff around the house and yard. Our favorite Chinese restaurant is now under new management, so we might check that out on Sunday.

I work Saturday. After that... take care fo my elderly mom. Make sure she eats.

Sunday mornings are special. We get up before the birds do. Make coffee, to sit out on the deck. All of us. They love that. they take turns who sits in the lap. They act extra excited and happy with their play.We watch the dawn come.... Then its off to my mothers again.

We are going to cook out with our oldest and dearest friend, and his wife. I love hanging out with them. We have known him for over 30 years, and over the years he has made some dubious matrimonial choices. He finally found a good one, a lovely Christian pastor on Sundays, and a lawyer by profession. We love her!

Oh, nice! That company was lauded as one of the best employers in America according to ABC national nightly news. Meaning training employees to be top notch (and by inference, happier, by virtue of feeling valued), preserving a healthy work atmosphere with nice wages and other cool tangibles as icing on the cake.

You got that right. for 13 years in a row, they were named top 100 employers to work for with Fortune.

I was surprised at the pay they offered me. It was more than I asked for and expected! I had about 60 hours of training (1 month of training) before store opened, and more to come.

Benefits, even for PT employees are amazing, including Dental and Vision. They even offer pet insurance! (VIP if anyone's interested in knowing)

Discount is 40-50% off, depending on what you buy (most retail is what.. 20%??) and they are very flexible in your hours.

They offered free lunch during grand opening weekend for employees (and they're not cheap lunches either!).

They threw a HUGE, and I mean HUGE, pre-grand opening/preview party for the employees, vendors, Women's Heath and such before the opening.. it was a top-notch, high-society party and I was very impressed with the food, the set up and the band. I will post pics once the photographers post them!

Grand Opening weekend was a MADHOUSE! a Madhouse I tells you! But it was pretty amazing! our sales goal was $85k on saturday, we surpassed it with $142k! and 10% of the profit proceeds to Women's Health of Long Island. I am sure they're happy!
