Ever since I researched wet cat foods, I have been excited about trying Weruva for a taste test. She has no weight, allergy, kidney, or bladder problems, but I can't find any other company that only uses protein sources that are proven safe for human consumption and says that on the label.

So while I was near the store that sells Weruva for another reason I bought one 3-ounce can of almost every flavor.The first thing I did when I got home was select the Asian Fusion (tuna and something else) for the first taste test. She sniffed a couple seconds, then ate a lot of it. First taste test passed.

I've been feeding my 14-year-old cat Weruva exclusively for the last 6 months or so. She seems to love it, more than any other high-meat brand I've tried (Ziwipeak, Before Grain, etc.) Her favorite is the Paw Lickin Chicken, but she doesn't seem to like the Green Eggs and Chicken flavor - she'll lap up the moist gravy, but she won't touch the egg bits or the peas. Probably just personal preference from cat to cat, though ;}

If you get a chance to, try some of their Cats in the Kitchen pouch line. They've got some great flavors in that lineup too, with pumpkin "gravy" to help with digestion, and they're wonderfully moisture-rich.

I get my supplies on Amazon, since Weruva doesn't sell directly to the consumer online.

I hate pouches because you can't measure out a fraction of the contents and Patricia never eats a whole can in one sitting. She has no history of poop problems and rarely vomits, so I am not worried about it. I originally planned to only buy the two without vegetables, but the clerk I talked to said fish is cheaper than chicken because of where the meat is produced (Thailand), so I also bought tuna, mackeral, skipjack, and seafood flavors.

After Asian Fusion proved to be a winner - Patricia ate most of it - I gave her Mack and Jack. Again, she sniffed it before eating and obviously likes it.

just a word of warning though: too much fish is bad for your cat. I'd stick to mostly poultry flavors with fish as a "treat" now and again.

My cat loves the Grandma's chicken soup flavor, and the other pumpkin and chicken flavor (can't remember what it's called now).

That being said, I have to supplement the can with some other brand  or raw meat the day I feed my cat weruva (I rotate brands) as it's not enough calories for my big guy. I believe the 5.5 oz can only has 100 calories which is not enough for an active cat as the sole meal so you either have to feed more than with other brands or supplement with some other food (unless you have a small, less active cat I guess). I like the moisture content though and when it's been super hot here I've given my cat some as it gets extra moisture into him.

Don't worry Velvet, I am just making sure she likes the brand before making her eat chicken. Like me, she would rather eat fish and seafood than chicken, so I thought starting with fish would make the taste test easier. Also, I did not want to spend too much on my first purchase.

I am keeping dry Blue Buffalo out all the time, but she eats very little each day anyway and does not lose weight. So I am not worried about the small number of calories for a very lazy senior citizen.

Oh I missed the bit where you said she was 14 years old. Yeah they can eat less. I have a very active 14 MONTH old and if I just give him one can of Wervua he'll howl for more food because he's hungry.

He does like it though. I just have to give him extra.

Correction: 16, not 14.

Of course if she was 16 months old I would give her something different.

Good job Andrea! How is she doing on Weruva?
I have not seen her eat Blue Buffalo since she started, but by looking at her bowls, I can tell she is. So right now she eats both wet and dry as long as I still have kibbles to feed her. By the time she finishes that bag, I will know which cans to buy again.

I figured out (no surprise) she does not like eggs or liver and seems to not be crazy about beef either. I will know for sure about beef after she tries the steak frites, but my prediction is she will reject it.
