Would switching foods make Patricia eat more?

Because Patricia has always been a free feeder I never thought about how much food she eats every day. Then when I decided to switch her to wet food because the new vet suggested buying cans again, I did a test to see how long it takes to eat one cup of kibbles. It took five days. Now I am wondering if she does not like Blue Buffalo as much as she used to and a food switch should have been made months ago. What is obvious is I will never free feed dry food to any more cats.

Does she NEED to eat more? It seems to me that self-regulating is a good thing. So many cats are fat because they don't self-regulate.

I am not worried about how little dry food she eats. The problem is if she only eats ~1/8 a cup of kibbles each day because of a bad appetite, I need to throw away most of the wet food I buy. But if she eats so little because of the taste, I will not be wasting money when I buy wet food for her.

Good point.  How much canned food is she eating now?  Maybe she is just nibbling on the kibble in the middle of the night or something out of sheer habit and doesn't really need it.

I know since I switched mine to scheduled feedings several months ago, Callie still automatically goes to where her free feeding dish USED to be whenever she feels stressed, just because she is a "comfort eater".  She just can't seem to break that habit

How is Patricia doing with her eating now that she is on Weruva?
She never eats a whole can but it is obvious she likes chicken and loves fish. She does not like liver, which is disappointing but not surprising. I don't know about the eggs yet because I fed her late today. If there is no ethoxiquin in the fish I will definitely buy more seafood than chicken because she clearly agrees with me on what tastes better.

Even though the dry food is still out 24/7, I have not seen her eat it since she started eating wet food again. This definitely is her last bag.
