I'm so glad he is home, hopefully he will be all fixed up and no more problems here soon.

After you give fluids the first time, any other time will be no big deal. I was a bit squimish the first time I did it but now it is no big deal. As long as Angel is good during it it should be a piece of cake. You might be able to keep him still while you give them to him with some treats or yummy wet food.
Thanks!  Hopefully being on all the meds, he will stay calm. He's been a little dazed looking, like you can just tell he's on something.  I do have a question though, after I make the "tent"

between his shoulders to put it in, do I have to keep holding it up, or can I release it once the needle's in?  The Vet tech showed me how to do it, but don't remember.

Then I can hold him down w/ that hand, & squeeze the bag w/ the other to make it go faster, like the tech showed me at the vet's.

(she marked the bag for me, it's only about an inch & a half each time).

Let go of the tent after the needle is in. You will want that hand to keep him still from wiggling it out anyways. That's nice that the bag is marked already, it will make it easier to watch.

Stephanie, Thanks, that site did help! The tech went through all the instructions w/me, but all the rooms were taken, so we had to use the ultrasound room for her to show me how to do it,

and then they needed that too, so she had to rush through it. It was overwhelming! So, thank you!!

That video was great!!  Glad to see him playing and feeling better.  Hope this is the beginning of him returning to health and a normal life.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. He was cracking me up! (silly boy!)

I started to worry again today, because even after giving him the fluids, he hadn't peed sense yesterday. I even filled a syringe w/ water,

& put a little in his cheek at a time, just trying to get some more water in him, even though I put it in his food too. I originally wanted to see if I could just keep him in

from now on, & not take him out on his harness & lech anymore, while he wasn't interested, not feeling well. BUT, at that point, after trying unsuccessfully to get him

to go in his box, I just knew he HAD to pee, so out we went. I took a small plastic cap, about the size of a film container w/ to slip under him as he squatted, so I could

see how much he went. "He filled it!!!!!!!"  I have never been so relieved, & happy over pee!!!
Somebody got a good boy treat!!!!

Thanks everyone!  He's doing really good. Worried for a couple of days when he hadn't pooped, but know that's probably the meds.

He had his second round of fluids last night, along with some pumpkin mixed in his food, & finally around 10:45",Yey, Poopies!!"

avver,

Well ya know," I likes to be coooonated!"
He almost matches my living room walls too! LOL!

Hi TCS Friends, I thought I'd give an update.  Tonight, (Fri) is the LAST night I have to give Angel his fluids! We're at the bottom of the bag.

Yey!  (I hate that big needle!)

So today I called the Vet to make an appointment for his Follow up visit. We go Monday morning. All should be well. He has been doing really good! I made

some "tuna water" the other day & was happy to see him finally drink something. ( how long can you leave that out??)

He was always a good water drinker before this incident, so I hope he goes back to that.

I'll let you know how Monday goes!!
