Well, I'll be darned... I never thought I'd see a cat that didn't mind a bath! I wonder if this one's a therapy cat? They have to take baths before they go to hospitals and things, and they have to be really placid.

What a gorgeous black cat, too.

Hmmm there's a part of me wonders if the cat is scared?. The reason being, although Jack is semi feral, when l trim his claws he goes like that cat and stay's perfectly still, but the minute l lift my arms up for him to go he darts away. He's like that at the vets as well, and the vet said it's because he's scared.

I still don't know why people wash short haired cats, but that's just my opinion

Show cats get washed. It's a way to have a cat if you have allergies. It cuts down on shedding. I once met a cat who needed washing because he was a bottle baby whose mom never had the chance to teach him to lick himself clean. Some cats just like to get into nasty stuff.

I don't think the cat's scared. He's not pleased, but he seems to know what's going on and that it's not dangerous. He probably also knows full well that his owner can and will hold him by the scruff if he tries to escape, so he doesn't try. He strikes me as "mildly annoyed", at least by body language. The tail's going back and forth in a tense, but not outright angry fashion. His eyes are wide, but not in the dramatic fashion that a really scared cat will have. I think he's kind of going, "Might as well let the humans do the water thing. They always stop eventually."

My vet calls it "cat minutes."

Most cats have a set number of minutes that they will calmly tolerate something awful or something they hate -- like a bath, clipping nails, being handled by the vet, etc.

After those minutes are up, all bets are off as to whether or not you can handle kitty. Most likely not. :lol3:

Wow, That was a long time for that cat to be so good. She (?) didn't even try to get away when he let go of her. That was a detailed bath for sure!!

I'm surprised she let him put her into the water. "Or should I say, her bubble bath!"
   What a sweet kitty!

That's crazy!  Wonder why these people have a racoon in their house, much less on their bed with the cat? Poor kitty!

Maybe they adopted an orphaned raccoon when it was a baby? An adult wouldn't be tame like that. I guess they must have raised the raccoon, only to realize that when it was grown it wouldn't survive out in the wild because of having no experience with anything out there. If it's a pet raccoon, then it's as clean as any other pet would be.
