Ok so Im so torn. We have a feral cat in our neighborhood. I started to feed him because I feel so bad for him. He has a bad eye infection and I called a local company that traps feral cats and takes care of them and then puts them back where they found them. The problem is I have a cat. She goes outside and this male cat is now hanging around all the spots my cat likes to go and she can't go there now because of him. Im also afraid she is going to catch what he has. I know if I stop feeding him he might go away but how do you stop feeding a homless cat!! Im so torn. Oh and now that I feed him outside I have thse damn possums comming into my yard and they almost had a fight with my cat last night!! uggg!!

You would be doing this guy a huge favour if he was neutered and received vet care for his eye. Please help him out.

Oh Im definately helping him out I have called the TNR but they are waiting for a vet to take him in.  I called last week but still no call back yet.  I don't know if I should call them again.  Im sure they will call as soon as they can get a vet appointment but whereas he has a infection you would think they would try to trap him right away!!

Hang in there, I know how busy they can be, I've been waiting for them to TNR ferals I have, our first trap was last week and the kitty was to tiny to spay so they brought her back, when our vet has the time they will come back & try again, it just takes alot of time and planning for them. In the meantime can you try to keep your cat in for a while. Best of luck & God Bless you for caring

Well I did call back and good thing i did because I think she forgot about me.  She was taking another cat to the vet this Saturday so she said she would come to my house to trap him Saturday morning.  I just hope he goes into the trap.  If not there is no way of helping him but continue to feed him.  He pretty much does not leave my yard at all now.  He knows where the good food is!!  I might even get some vitimins that I give my cat and put it in the food Im giving him.  My cat loves it.

Well she came today and was able to trap him.  I felt so bad when she traped him but I know it is helping him.  She took him the vet today for an antibiotic shot and then she will bring him home and bring him back to the vet next week for him to be fixed and his shots and then I guess she brings him back here.  So use to him being out there I keep expecting him to be at the door looking for food!!  Hope all goes well for him at the vets.

Woohooo! That's great news!

Oh I totally know that feeling. I always cry a bit 'cause I feel in some weird way like I betrayed their trust since I can't explain to them what's happening, and they're sooo scared. But then I also know they're going to get looked after and that's what really matters. Thank you for looking after this guy. Karma will be good to you.

Super news that he was so easily trapped  He will be just fine  This is exactly what he needs even though he doesn't think so. Let us know how his eye is and what the vet says. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes: for this little guy :rub:
