My brother found a small kitten at his job one night ago, so i took her in. She was abandon by the mother and one of the siblings that she was with had already died. Her eyes are swollen shut and puss was coming out of one of them, her breathing is bad, she is sneezing, and her nose was crusted over. I wont be able to take her to the vet till next week and i was wondering what could i do to keep her condition from worsening in the mean time. I am feeding her with kitten formula, and i have also gotten an antibiotic that the vet prescribes. I also lay warm damp towels on her face every few hours. Is there anything else that can be done?

She needs to see a vet right away, not next week.  Even with immediate vet care her chances are probably not good, and she will need a lot of care and nursing over the next few weeks.

Yeah that wasn't helpful. If it were possible she would be at the vet already.

Is it time, money, transport or some other reason you can't get to the vet until next week?

You may not like Oriental Slave's anser, but, it is the correct anser, and she was only trying to help you. If you can't get the kitten to a vet, then you can't get the kitten to a vet, for whatever reason.

But, to anser your question, yes, there is one thing you can do, being that you are unable to get the kitten to a vet. You can take the kitten to the SPCA or Humane Association or a rescue organization, at least she will get vet care.  If you doing nothing, at least call the police, they will take her, being that you found her.

Best of luck, what ever you decide to do.

Give her steam treatment by either setting up a vaporizer in a room where you can close the door on her or running the shower in the bathroom with the door closed. This could help open up her nasal passages. Buy Little Noses from the pharmacy over the counter and put one drop in each nasal passage once a day - so in the morning, do the right nostril and in the evening do the left nostril, etc.

Is she eating well? It's good that she can nurse from a bottle when she has a cold that is stuffing up her nose. What antibiotic are you using?  and how did you get it from the vet without taking her in? Was it from a previous pet?  If so, are you sure the dosage is correct for such a small kitten?

Put a little baking soda in some warm water and clean her eyes.

Good luck!

I don't see an update from the OP, but I had trapped two feral kittens not long ago. One had an awful eye infection (sealed and bulging with pus), I brought him home and bathed him with dawn to make sure he didn't have fleas and used a CLEAN warm wash cloth to open and rinse the eyes. Whatever you do don't by Hartz formula, it's not good for animals. It killed two babies I had last year and made the fur fall out of a few. I switched to goats milk and it has worked in a pinch until I can buy KMR. Also, if you go into a feed store and talk to the manager or clerk, they might be able to steer you to a product that will help.
