Will adding extra protein to my cat's diet help to heal a bite wound quicker?

That  I don't know, and never heard of it, but that doesn't mean, its not true, lol.

You didn't mention it, but hopefully, the kitty has been to a vet, and is on antibiotics, and is current on his rabies vaccine.  I don't know what they give kitties for a bite wound, but with humans, who have a cat bite wound, they give augmenten, which I can't spell, lol.

One thing you can do, is keep it clean, so it doesn't get infected, they should have told you, what to put on it.  And you can give your kitty L-Lysine. Its an immune booster. You can get it in the human vitamin section.  The capsules are easier to give, but if you can't find them, the tablets are OK, you just smush them up into powder, and mix with wet food. You want to give at least a 1/2 3.0 oz can, as some do not like it, I have one, lol.

If the kitty is under 9 lbs, you give 250 mg, once a day. If the kitty is over 9 lbs, you give 250 mg twice a day, or 500 mg once a day, most split it up.

You want to get a good brand, one that does not have any fillers in it, it will say so on the bottle.

The others on here are very knowledgeable too, and can give you even better information. Best of luck, hope kitty is feeling better soon.

Flint, thank you very much for the information. Yes he has been to the vet, is on antibiotics and I am cleaning it with instructions from the vet. Taking him back to vet on Tue. morning.
