Spur of the moment decision.

You know how much we love cruises, but with all the  medical health problems this year we haven't really thought too much about it.     Anyway, we were in the shopping center where our local AAA office is located.  Actually we went there to get some kitchen sink mats at Bed, Bath and Beyond (one of my favorite stores).    Just to kill time we stopped in to see our travel agent at AAA and, to make a long story short, we bit the bullet and booked a cruise for January.     Carnival Valor - we were on this ship 3 years ago.  Prices were just too good to ignore.   Of course we took out the insurance which covers us in the event of any medical issues.      Honestly, if we drove to Disney or anyplace else here in Florida for a few days, it would cost us almost as much as the cruise.    So - here we go again --- anyone on TCS want to join us???    The more the merrier.

excellent! we love to cruise also but hate to fly or drive. so, we always cruise out of new orleans.

Have a great time.  I have never wanted to go on a cruise, but maybe someone else here will volunteer and meet up with you.

I have never been on a cruise!! Would love to someday. Have a wonderful time!!!

Dh and I sometimes talk about doing a cruise, but never have.  Sounds like such fun.  I want to see Alaska while I'm on this coast, and would love to do some sort of nordic country cruise.

ooh me too! I would love to go north on a cruise, and Alaska looks spectacular. I've never been on a cruise but would love to go one day. DH can't swim and isn't keen on a "floating hotel" either, but I think he would come around for the right cruise.
Lana - I'm really glad you have something fun to look forward to. You and Paul deserve a treat after all you've been going through.

Getting exited about the cruise. It's not until January but I always like to have something to look forward to.   And some friends of ours are going to join us.    One is a couple we knew from Ft. Lauderdale, I used to work with Barbara. They were on a cruise with us 3 years ago and just booked it again. Also a lady Paul used to work with is joining us.     She was on a couple of cruises with us.   She's a widow and I really admire her for being able to go on cruises by herself.     I don't know if I'd be able to do that

We've done a bunch of cruisese; enough that we were discussing on our last cruise what number it was, and we couldn't decide for sure.  It's somewhere in the mid to high 20's.

We went to Alaska and had a very good time, but it's very different from a Caribbean cruise.

We have been doing the same thing-- I think our total is in the mid 30's - something like that.  I'd love to do an Alaskan cruise but Paul isn't too keen on that.      We've seen so many of the islands that the destination isn't really important.   We just enjoy the ship itself, the relaxation, meeting people from all over the country and the world.
