I love Tigers!! It looks like a nice enclosure?! I always feel so bad for the animals in zoo's. The best I have seen though, was the Wild Animal Park in San Diego. It was about 15 years ago when we went - but it was so spacious and a more natural environment for the animals. I would love to go back there someday. Thanks for sharing - they are beautiful.:clap::clap:

gorgeous tiger pictures. I saw something on the national geographic channel about a zoo with big cat walkways pretty high up and going every which way. I think it was the philadelphia zoo. the cats are given specific times to use the skyways 1 species at a time. the idea is to let 1 species smell the other species. the zoologists believe the exercise and different scents are stimulating for the different big cat species. the exercise, certainly. if I ever get to philadelphia I will try to visit.

Thank you, for, the compliments on my picture's
. I think, they, came out pretty good for a camera phone. I believe, you are right, about, that being the Philadelphia Zoo
. Most, AZA, accredited zoo's have some/a lot of "exhibit" that the public can not see. As far as, enviormental enrichment goes, yes, smells are a major part of it. I can tell you, my, F3 Savannah goes crazy for certain smells.
Tigers are amazing and beautiful!
I would have to agree.

Yes, those are very nice enclosure's. You have to remember, most, if not all, AZA, accredited zoo's hav only a small amount of viewing for the public. Most of, the actual exhibit, is not viewable by the public. Hence, the enclosure's are much larger, then, the general public viewing area.

Now, I agree, about,"feeling bad", for the big cats and the lesser cats (small cats like a Serval, Asian Leopard cat,  Fishing Cat, and so on) being in captivity. But, for so many of the species, if not all, the natural habitat is either gone or has been changed by humans beyond "repair". Hence, in truth, I know, the cats are much better off, in captivity, then, in the wild. I hope, that, made sense. If not, let me know, and I will rephrase.

Here are some links, that explain, the plight of many exotic cats today:
