Not that I have kept the board up on what has seemed like a never-ending series of interviews, but this afternoon I was offered and accepted a new job at a new school.

It's a bit tough to explain, but my new position is Administrative Resource Teacher at a bea-u-ti-ful brand new school. This school has a very high student enrollment, so they qualify for an additional administrative person...namely me! It's one step closer to an assistant principal's job. I start on Thursday.

Boy, do I have a lot of loose ends to tie up at my old school in the meantime.

Deb that's great news! I remember that you've mentioned in passing here and there about your interviews and I am really glad that you've finally found something worth accepting. Good luck leaving your current school and starting at your new one!

Thanks, one and all. I haven't posted about the 25+ interviews over the summer. I would have made it to 10,000 posts for sure. It was a draining and discouraging process. The school district is quite political, and a lot of the positions I was close on went to somebody high up in the district. I also lost some due to EEOC hiring.

This position is really a stepping stone for me, as it is not my final goal, but to get experience in a school other than one in a poverty area is really a plus for me. I am now just soaking in the reality that I will be leaving my school after 9 years.
