I need help transitioning our new girl, the 5 year old to eating something other than kibble. She will occasionally eat raw with the boys but she never eats more than 1-2 pieces. We have had her for 2 months and I think she never eaten anything but kibble. I have her on a grain free kibble right now. Problem is the boys think kibble is kitty crack and so I'm having to separate them for meals and then the boys stalk the door where I'm feeding her because they want her dry food. I'm feeding her Before Grain chicken.

I'd be happy if I could just get her to eat canned, but I don't want the boys eating kibble again. I've tried to get her to eat Before Grain canned but she just looks at it and walks away.

My cat, who is 16 years old, does the same thing with Blue Buffalo. I always wondered why she will not even sniff the wet Blue Buffalo while eating the dry Healthy Aging with no complaints because she will eat some other brands of wet food.

What you need to do is switch all of your cats to wet food only (or raw if they will eat that). This requires a lot of taste testing, but the first rule is buying grain-free cans with real meat as the first ingredient. The meat should not be fish unless your cats will not eat anything else. Carrageenan shouldn't be in there either, but it may be unavoidable if your cats are too picky. Buy both chunks and pate cans - some cats care about the texture.
