THANK YOU ALL SO SO MUCH!!!  Sorry I haven't updated.  Missy is still doing really good, she is using the litter box every time now.  She is doing some walking now!!!  She walks "normal" no limping, but very slow, stiff & almost unsure.  I'm not sure if she is just afraid it will hurt, if it does hurt, or if her muscles are just weak from the confinement.  I'm still not letting her run around yet, not til after her check up, but I ordered her a 4ft x 4ft pen so that she will have room to move and build up her muscles more, but without jumping, or being rolled by one of the other cats.  We go back for re-check Monday afternoon!!!  I'm ready to hear a professional opinion.  I will let ya'll know what we hear.

I am late to this thread but read it on the edge of my seat. I am so happy to see the update and know how well your beautiful girl is doing. Well done on all the care. I know how much work it is to take care of a cat in confinement. My Queen Eva had to live in the large dog crate for two weeks after a surgery complication and my goodness it was a lot of work. I had so many bumps on my head from bumping it against the top of the crate doorway! :lol3:

Missy is a gorgeous cat and I hope the remainder of her recovery is uneventful. Maybe she will forget about going outside now, with all this enforced inside! Maybe you can use that pen, as a safe outside enclosure? (when she is recovered I mean)

That's great news! I was wondering how she has been doing.  I'm sure she is stiff, & probably a little apprehensive to trust it. As a massage Therapist, you know what I'm going to say, I'm sure gently massaging the muscles in the area would be helpful. It should feel good to her, if she lets you do it, & isn't in any pain.

It will help the circulation in the area for continued healing. Good luck! I hope she lets you!

Got the pen all set up last night, I think she loves it.  She has moved around alot today!  The weird thing is, it's almost like she doesn't want me to see her walking does most of it when my back is turned or I am peeking & she just doesn't know it.  But I'm almost convinced some of that is called being a wee bit spoiled lol, because when she couldn't move I'd put her food right by her, then I got to putting it further away but I'd still get a handful out & lay it beside her.  She even got lazy enough to start scooping it out of the bowl with her paw so she didn't have to get up (and this is recently while she has been able to move).  So now she has to actually walk to the bowl but lets on like she can't and looks at me like "ok get me some out" yet when I check 30 min. later bowl is empty.  So she may being playing me just a little maybe?  Although it doesn't take her long to get up and walk to her canned food.......lol brat.  I may try the massage thing if she will let me.  She has always had a I'm the boss attitude which subsided when she had to completely rely on me, but um seems to be returning a bit these days.  She lets me know when she is tired of me messing with her.  This evening she did seem to be walking a little bit looser, not so stiff so the new pen may be a big help.  Before when she walked it was almost like tippy toeing her rear end looked like it was up higher than her front half, no limping or anything just not her normal walk, but this evening it just appeared like it was easier for her to get around.  Maybe just wishful thinking on my part idk guess we will find out more Monday.  Which I am so nervous about
and don't know why, just worried about receiving bad news.  Anyway thanks for the well wishes and thanks for letting me babble on and on.  Really helps to express my concerns and get feed back and ideas.

I'm so glad Missy is doing so much better, and how lovely that her personality is reasserting itself. That's the best indication of all that she is on the mend!

:vibes::vibes::vibes: that the Monday check up is uneventful.

LOL! So, you've got a "Sassy" kitty too huh?
YUP! I know all about that. Angel lets me know when he's had enough of me too. When He acts like that I call him

"McSassy."
"Little stinkers they are!"  I'm so glad Missy is walking more. That's a good sign. I think because of that, everything should be fine Monday.

Try not to worry, you don't want to manifest that kind of negative energy, but I know it's hard not to do when it comes to our babies. Just look how far she's come, & how well she's done w/ all your TLC & love!

Appointment went well.  Doc told me I did good, so that made me feel better.  He said she isn't healed yet & to keep her confined 2-3 more weeks but she can have a little more freedom just not total unsupervised freedom.  He said how she is walking now may be the best she ever walks, but on the other hand she is walking better than he ever thought she would so she may surprise him again.  He also said surgery will always be an option, but the results may not be any better than how she is now so just keep it in mind just in case.  The only negative she got (or I got) was she has gained a pound since the accident so I have to limit her amount of food.  She is only 9.6 lbs but he says with her hips she absolutely cannot get over weight, 8-9 pounds max.  He put her on 1/2 cup of food per day.  Which I have always been a free feader so that just doesn't sound like much but if it keeps her out of pain I guess we will both just have to compromise.  Thinking about restricting my other cats food amount too while I am supervising feedings might as well conquer them all at one time (Missy is my smallest, I have one that is 18 lbs!! all my cats are fatties).  You could definately tell she felt better she was her usual "don't touch me I don't like you" Missy with the vet tech yesterday
  Gotta love them sassy cats!

It encourages me when people believe in the power of prayer.  I once had a cat healed overnight from heartworms because of prayer.  I am so glad your Missy is improving.  I am praying and believing for a continuing miracle in Missy.

Thank you!  I know no matter what I or the vets do there is really only one in control, and he has answered many prayers through this.

It's heartwarming to see other believers & like minded people on here.
