RIP Donna the Hippo,

The world's oldest known Nile hippopotamus, Donna, lived at Evansville's Mesker Park Zoo.

It has been a while since I have visited this zoo, but I remember her well.

WOW- Donna the hippo was 61 years old. AWWW what a life she led.

RIP Donna swim freely now.......

That's really old for that kind of animal!

A similar situation happened in Denver.  The Denver Zoo had a polar bear named Velox.  They'd had her since for a long time, and for some reason, she was blind.  However, he would find apples, etc., that people threw to him.  He was very popular, and when he died, he was buried in a place of honor at the zoo.

I wonder if something like that will be done for Donna?
