Neglect... Abuse... A car accident... & Re-infection...

What is it that make some days more poignant than others?

Today, we went to the vet to find that Mythie has a touch of diarrhea... And the bottom of her skin graft is a bit infected.

I don't know what i'll do if she gets infected again....
She's been there almost a month!
I'm so scared she'll have a re-lapse or something like that...

Next to Mythie is a Shi Tzu... who looks like he got hit by a bus! And we found out that this poor little guy was neglected by his ****ing owners... Let me describe him to you...

His head is covered in scratches from a razor that they used to shave him... There are scratches all over his body. Why did they shave him? Who lknows.... There are these wart like things on his penis, i don't even want to know how those happened... His ears are infected, they have turned BLACK on the inside from the infection!!

His eyes are covered over... in this film. He's two years old when i saw him i thought this dog must be at least 12.

And here's the worst part... He has a hole in his neck the size of a tennis ball from a wound that got infected, and filled up with maggots!

I burst into tears when i saw him... and when i heard... His little paws are swollen, they look like they've been stepped on or something...

What kind of people are capable of things like this...
What kind of disgusting sick pigs do this?

And apparently these people have LOTS of dogs...

Why? Why does this happen? If only they could talk... I can't tell you what i'm feeling... I'm so sad. I'm So very very sad... I can't stop crying for that poor little doggie... What could he possibly have ever done to deserve this?

What do I do?
I have to do something?
I can't just sit here and let the vet give him back to those ... those people who did this to him!!!
I can't... But what do I do?
I have to do something.... something has to be done...

And then while we were at the vet, my fiancee got a call from his dad to tell him his cousin just passed away in a car accident...

What's going on!!!

If anything happens to Mythie now, I don't know what i'll do...

We'll all pray for Mythie.

As for the dog--have a talk with the vet how horrible everything with that dog is and how important it is that he go to a good home. Have his current owners owned him all along or did they just rescue him? If they just rescued him then he's probably okay. Talk to the vet, find out what they're planning on doing. Do you have an ASPCA in your country?

The owners brought him in, according to the vet a long time after the initial infection set it. They must have known about it as they were trying to treat it themselves! It's their dog, they didn't rescue him. He needs rescuing from them if you ask me
we do have an SPCA here in malaysia but how do i get the spca involved without stepping on anyone's toes?
Will my vet get in trouble if i call the spca?
I think i'm going to call them any way... and just feel my way around the topic...

My vets job is to treat the animal, and he's doing that... apparently this is, as they said just how some of their clients are...

You know after all they've done for us I really really respect and love my vets ... this is a tough one isn't it...

That is really a tough one. I'm really surprised the vet didn't turn those people in to the SPCA. Can you make an anonymous report? I'd hate for you to make waves with your vet, but for that dog to go back into the home that treated him so horribly just isn't right.

omg.. that dog sounds like something straight out of animal cops
I HATE people!!! There has to be a way that those people can get arrested for animal abuse. That dog should not be returned to them.

I do hope Mythie gets well

Well tomorrow morning i'm calling the spca to see what they're normal procedure for dealing with cases like this is...

What I am afraid of is this: you see Malaysia isn't quite as prgressive where animals are concerned so the spca may not have the legal right to remove the doggie from these 'people'. If that is the case, then it probably explains why the vet has not bothered to call them as perhaps there is nothing they can do...

I'm going to think this through somemore, i mean, poor little guy is obviously not going anywhere for a while, so at least he's in good hands at the vet... In the mean time i'll have to figure out a way to tackle this problem as gently as possible.

What i have definetly decided though, is that i need to find out why the vet has not contacted the spca... Strange as this may sound, he may have a valid reason. Afterall he knows the so called owners better than I do... Perhaps his decision was based on logic and not just apathy.

It's been a nightmare of a day...
Tomorrow will be better though...

OMG , those people don't need any animals .Yes call them and see if that poor dog can be rescued by them . Maybe they rescue all of their animals when they see what they look like . That is so heart breaking to me . I am glad I did not have to see this or I may would have to get in trouble for that .....

Went to the vet today...
The poor little guy didn't make it. He passed on yesterday I think... I wonder if his stupid owners are even bothered.

Anyway, I called the spca and they referred to an enforcement agency known as Jabatan Haiwan which is malay for... Animal Affairs I think. They've been closed over the weekend, so I am going to call them tomorrow and ask them to send me some details as to how they usually deal with suspected cases of neglect etc and then I'll discretely drop off the information at our vet next time we go...

The state the dog was in, I'm almost relieved he doesn't have to go back to those people and that his journey is finally over... I wish his spirit well

Mythie's infection has spread!
One of the sutures broke ... I'm having a really really difficult time coping with the situation emotionally ... I'm so scared things won't turn out right ...

You know after all she's been through you'd expect the trauma to be nearing an end... But it's not. I think it's especially because of where the sutures are and the general location of the wound... It's constantly oozing, and today it was a bit puss'y ... Does any one know what else can be done? maybe some of you have some ideas, or questions that we haven't thought of asking the vet, maybe it will jog his memory or something,...

Anyway, the struggle continues...

How terrible for that poor little dog. As stupid as these people sound, at least they finally brought the dog to a vet. Did the vet tell you the prognosis for the little dog? I hope he's ok and they can fix him up.

What did the doctor say about Mythie's infection? Does he seem to think they can catch it quickly?

And I'm sorry about your hubby's cousin. You've definately had your share of woes lately and I feel for you.

I don'tknow what the address is. I don't think my vet can legally give me that info either. What i am going to do is just collect whatever material i can get about how the Animal Office deals with neglect and hand it to my vet... He probably already knows his options when it comes to cases like this, but maybe it'll just jog his memory a bit...

dunno, but something is better than nothing.

as for a diagnosis, or prognosis, i can't bear to ask. i remember that poor little guys face and it really just breaks my heart...

I certainly understand. It breaks my heart just hearing you describe it. I'm just hoping this little doggie has a chance to get well and that he has a happy future.
