The female feral born - that I have yet been able to trap - brought me the second set of 4 kittens.
My inability to trap her is another whole saga and not my purpose of this thread.

The first set "Pepper" brought to us on January 1, of this year (2012). The second set arrived in timely fashion - June 2 is when I first knew they had arrived - and this time they barely had their eyes open.

It's now been almost two months and both groups of kittens are getting along. In fact, it seems two of the older males seem to be caring for the smaller kittens.

This brings me to what I THINK I saw - on two occasions - one of the younger kittens looked like he/she was nursing on an older kitten - which is a male.

So, what do you think - do I need stronger glasses or what? :)

Nay, they seems to be strong enough. This behaviour of nursing on isnt that very unusual.

The older kittens caring for the younger is sooner more unusual.

You just be quicker with trapping AND with spaying, so you will do all right!   :)

Nope - you don't need stronger glasses :lol3: I am sure you saw what you saw!!! Kittens will do this and I have seen many. IN fact, my Perkins used to nurse on his litter mate Perla. Poor Perla - she would just lay there like WHY!!!!! He got over it pretty quickly though. I think they do it more out of a need of comfort than hunger. Good luck with this new set of kittens, Gloria!!! :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

Whew! Thanks for the confirmation.

I guess I mostly was amazed that it was/is one (older) kitten from the first litter that has taken on some of the caring for the youngster - and, it does seem like it's just the one kitten.

I love observing their behavior as they adjust to living with each other as well as these dangerous humans. :lol3:

Here's the older one with 3 of the 4 recent litter:

The Yellow kitten is not the one I saw nursing, it was one of the gray tabbies - so - maybe he's filling in for more than one kitten. :)

The first litter all look alike with very little differences in the markings. The second litter has two yellow ones, and two gray.
