Sooo anyway

The Camera I had coming was apparently purchased from a scammer on Amazon Marketplace.

I have received bogus tracking information, they took the money- and never sent the item.

I was STUPID to buy from a new seller with zero feedback. But I did, and this happened. Luckilly, amazon will stand behind it and refund the money-- in like 2 weeks SIGH- And in the meantime,  I had a photo shoot planned for the 10th.......

E-mails to the seller are responded to with bogus tracking info, nonsense jargon, and basically ridiculousness. Such as the following

Me: THere is no record of my address in Fed Ex system. Plus, the "tracking" number is the order number. Please tell me where my camera might be.

Him: it in box sent from Michigan, that is tracking #

This goes on back and forth the past few days.

THEN today I go to their "Storefront" and there is zero merchandise...... I e-mail them asking why, they respond "I suspended"

So I respond
Code:
HelloI have not heard back from you regarding the camera.Did you send it?It is frustrating because it all seems very suspicious.FedEx always gives a tracking number.I need to hear from you regarding this please. Thanks
He says
Code:
NOPE NOT IT
Code:
I spoke to FedEx on the phone and they have no record of any packagecoming to my address. Are you sure you don't have a tracking number, confirmation number oranything from them? Thanks for your help
Code:
Call amazon.com and I DONT KNOW TO HELP
And that's the last I hear from him, then I go to the site and see feedback from two other customers.

Plus now 2 reviews
    • 1 out of 5:
    • "Never delivered the item and no response to the refund request."
    • Shams O., July 28, 2012
    • 1 out of 5:
    • "Never sent me my item. Took all my money. "
    • Ashley C., July 27, 2012
And my feedback that is now left
    • 1 out of 5:
    • "Seller never sent item, but took the money! Was given bogus tracking information on several occasions."
    • Melody M. (edit this name), July 28, 2012

I'm sorry you had to go through that (I was tempted to say, "Baby, I'm so sorry"! LOL).  However, being cheated is not funny.

I have a knack, on eBay, for buying from a sterling-repped seller when he goes rogue. He can have 100's of + feedback ratings, no negatives, nor neutrals, and my transaction is the one he starts scamming people with.  It's happened several times.  Fortunately, with PayPal, I've always gotten my funds back quickly. I know a lot of people complain about them, and I have here once or twice, but even then, the matter was resolved in due time.  I like their protection, and wouldn't go back to sending checks for anything.

I think Amazon will resolve your case fast.

They do have access to the seller e-mails, and now the other cases- plus the fact they already suspended his account...

I hope I'm not waiting 2 weeks for the refund. The ideal thing would be for them to issue a gift card on Tuesday (thats the earliest they can do anything they say) and it SEEMS like it will be a cut and dry case, I'm just super frustrated!

I'm sorry you got scammed :(

I expect to hear stuff like that about eBay, but I'm surprised to see it is from Amazon. I buy frm Amazon all of the time, but I've always bought new, not from the private sellers.

Ebay accounts often get hacked. that's often what happens when you see someone with previous stellar feedback start scamming folks.
