Zoe was spayed on Wednesday and yesterday morning, she lost the desire to eat after about 1/4 of her morning food. Then she vomited and later had diarrhea. I called the vet after her first vomit to talk about it as it's listed on the 'things to call us for if this happens' sheet. I was told to keep an eye on her. Then I called again later in the day, and then this morning. I took her in for an xray and she got some sq fluids and cerenia. I was told to wait an hour and feed her.

I got her to eat 3 treats, and a tiny bit, I'd say MAYBE a teaspoon worth of wet food that she ate from my hand. Since then, she wont touch anything.

I just gave her some dramamine as prescribed by the vet and she's now under the bed asleep. I haven't been able to get her to eat anymore and I'm terrified. My fiancee is picking up some tuna on her way home and we're going to try that, and a few other things, just to at least get some calories back into her body that she keeps emptying with the vomit/diarrhea.

She hasn't vomited again since this morning but she did just urinate and have another diarrhea. I don't know how to help her to eat and I feel like I'm going to break down.

Any advice?

And I just realized my title says diarreah, nice. Sorry about that. *diarrhea.

How's she doing?  Sounds like she's had a reaction to the anesthesia, not totally uncommon, but unsettling.  You might try offering her a bit of wet food, a small serving at a time, like every hour or so until she gets better.

She isn't doing well at all. I tried everything. Different wet foods, some from the vet. Tuna as well. All heated or cold, nothing. Tried treats, nothing.

I did use a syringe (no needle) to feed her a bit manually. She goes to the bathroom about 1 minute after feeding and has another diarrhea spell. The food can't possibly move that quickly through her, could it?

I feel like if I hand feed her then maybe she will gain some strength back and be on her way to getting better. I just don't know. I feel more helpless than I can say.

It's time to call the vet or get her to the ER vet.  The vet should have an answering service or message on the machine telling you what to do in an emergency.

She was at the vet yesterday for all of her tests.

Good news though...she has hop to her step. I think all of the hand helping feeding we've been giving her, she is finally coming around. Today she is much more playful! Her diarrhea has color to it as well. It's still wet but at least I can see color. She ate a few treats on her own and I assisted feeding earlier on and when my fiancee arrives home in a few, we're going to try again.

She wants to eat, you can see it in her face. But I think she's just a bit apprehensive of how it will make her belly feel.

As we speak she is playing with some toys. She's so cute and I'm so happy to see a bit of life back in my baby girl.
