Well Popcorn's only been w/ us for a day and a half.  He's had diarrhea this morning and this afternoon.  He's had no firm stools since he's been w/ us.  He has been eating the food he was on at the shelter.  He did get 2 little treats yesterday & a Dorito from my daughter.  (The shelter staff said he loved them, so she gave him one last night.  I told her & her sister not to give him anything including the treats I bought.)

So, how long should I worry about the diarrhea?  I was thinking I'll give him over the weekend & if he's not better, ask to see the vet at the shelter??  We have 2 weeks that we can take him to the vet that the shelter uses.

FYI- he is using his litter box but the last time he poo'd in his box he had diarrhea & he had his butt facing the door.  The diarrhea literally shot out of the door onto his mat.  I cleaned it up w/ papertowels & a neutralizing spray.  All advice welcomed & appreciated!  Thank you in advance!

So you told your daughter not to give Popcorn treats but she did anyway? Bad girl. Actually, his name makes me think he should get treat LOL (but no corn kernels, of course).

I had just read and posted in a thread about tailless Manxes having diarrhea so bad they wear diapers, so my first thought was, "Does he have a tail?"

Yes he has a tail.  :)  And he's still has it today.  It looks a bit firmer, so I'm hoping it's just an upset tummy from being in a new place.

That's good news. It is common for a cat to not use the litterbox when something changes so I am not surprised. But I had never heard of this happening because the cat was freed from life in a cage with a lot of strange people, so it does seem weird.

Have you taken any pictures of him yet?
