Hey, everybody. I'm sorry I haven't been around TCS much lately, most due to work and volunteering at the cat rescue. Could really use some vibes for a couple of my former foster kittens, though. Rocco (black and white) and Cosmo (buff) were adopted as 12 week old kittens into what seemed like wonderful, very committed home. The adopters filled out an adoption application, I got a reference from their landlord and confirmed pets were allowed at their condo, verified their background info, did a home visit and followed up after the fact to ensure everything was going well. I told the adopters I would take the kittens back any time if things didn't work out and they also signed an adoption contract to this effect. Yesterday, I just happened to be looking Craigslist and noticed two male cats posted as "free to a good home." Have confirmed the cats are Rocco (now Frank) and Cosmo (now Charlie). The adopter doesn't give a reason for rehoming them - just says she can't take care of them any more. I emailed and called her right away to let her know the rescue I volunteer with would gladly take the cats back and that I would come to pick them up ASAP. Haven't heard back from her so far. The director of the rescue has posted about the cats on our local rescue FB page and we've contacted the county shelter near where the adopter lives in the event the cats end up their. We have a good relationship with the shelter and they will call us if the cats do come in. They've been microchipped and the chips are registered to our rescue, so that will help. I do have the adopter's yesterday and have thought about just going over there, but our director feels we should give her a little more time to respond. Please send major vibes that she doesn't just give the cats away and that we're able to get them back safely. They were such sweet little guys and have grown into very handsome big cats. Thanks!

Thanks! Tvhose powerful TCS vibes came through once again. The adopter finally called last night. The boys are fine, but she and her husband are moving, expecting a baby and just have too much other stuff going on in their lives right now to keep the cats. Same old story, which I have no use for, but remained polite for the sake of the cats. I'm picking them Sat. morning and taking them to the rescue. I'm so relieved their safe, especially after being posted as "free" on Craigslist. I loved fostering the boys as kittens and can't wait to get to know them as adults cats. It does sound like they've been well taken care of for the past three years. The adopter says Charley is very friendly and playful and Frank is the lover boy. That's what they were like as kittens, too.

:( that's very sad that they're being given up so easily. Thank goodness you saw them and were able to rescue them!

Thank goodness! I just don't get some people. I could NEVER, EVER give up my cats; I'd rather sell my blood, a kidney and whatever else I'm not using to keep them in yum-yums, catnip and a roof over their heads.

I'm so glad that you were able to get them back.    "Free" on Craigslist could have them ending up in a test lab or an abusive home.    I don't undestand how they can gave up those 2 kitties.   Maybe I'm not an expert, but having a baby shouldn't stop them from keeping the kitties.     But it all turned out ok in the end.  Please keep us up to date on finding a new and "better" home

Was worried when I read your first post, BUT then got to your next one. :high5: GREAT news that they called you. I wish they had done that in the first place, though. :slant: What a coincidence you noticed those babies on Craigslist and thank God you did. :hugs: :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes: Cosmo and Rocco (are you going to call them by their original names?)
