That's really good of you, WhollyCat... I really look forward to it.
I got side-tracked, so will get this done in the next few days. Hopefully it will be informative and helpful when it comes to choosing a CS and what to look for, etc.

FWIW, I use up to 30ppm internally (used this by mouth when Abby had a bout of FLUTD/IC in lieu of antibiotics--couldn't pill him) and/or externally for my kitties and myself. Brands I use are Source Naturals--Wellness Colloidal Silver (true) [this one is my number 1 choice], MesoSilver--Colloidal Silver (true), or Natural Immunogenics--Sovereign Silver Colloidal Silver Hydrosol (ionic).

Do you use it internally, Caroline, with yourself and/or your cats?

And does anyone use the machine to make their own?
No, I don't use internally.....
When I had a water fountain, sometimes I used one drop (500ppm) per cup (veeeeery diluted) to keep the water bacteria free..... But not really for medical reasons.
I can't testify for the benefits of using it internally - topically though, the BEST stuff :clap::clap::clap:

Thanks Carolina.. It must work topically as the results speak for themselves!

WhollyCat, thanks.. no pressure!

It also works internally--I've given it to my kitties and I use it internally myself, but never over 30ppm internally. (See my post before this for what brands I recommend--I try to stick with 'true' CS.) I have used it internally since I can't pill one of my kitties antibiotic pills (he's quite fractious when it comes to giving pills, but is a laid back kitty otherwise), and I've also used it internally at the first sign of a "kitty cold" e.g. watery eye, etc. with a drop placed into kitty's eye.

Thanks for adding the "no pressure"--that makes me not stress quite so much getting this done. It's quite the complicated subject to write about, but CS is quite amazing.

I have been out of this for a while, (no longer working @ the co-op & getting the discount), but this tread reminded me of how wonderful it really is!

Yes, I have taken it internally, it's great stuff that can work wonders!!  (I took some last night!) I buy the Sovereign Silver 10ppms. (the finer, the better, more absorption).

I did finally get some more yesterday to mainly have for Angel.  He has gotten some more chin acne, even though he hasn't eaten out of plastic bowls in about

two yrs. ?? Not sure why it still comes up once & a while??

He will usually let me rub a cotton round w/ peroxide on it, on his chin, & a few days of that clears it up.

BUT,  the other day when I noticed he had a couple of new deep ones that hurt so much, he was  pushing my hand away when I tried to apply some,

even being very gentle, I knew they hurt, so I bought some Colloidal silver in hopes it will clear it up quicker!

So, thanks for mentioning that about Flowerbelle, Laurie!

I put some in his eyes too, & he didn't squrm like he does w' the other drops. :)

Put a couple of drops in his water too! :)

Hi,

One of my boys has that typical rusty brown weepy eye and I've heard  colloidal silver can clear that up. I've never used it before and I'm wondering if anyone else has used it for that and if so how much and how is it administered? Just wipe the eye?

Before trying the CS, do you give him lysine? The weepy eye(s) are usually from a herpes infection, and often the use of 250mg lysine 2x a day, up to 500mg twice a day during a flare-up can resolve the problem.

Here are instructions for use of CS for ears and eyes: http://angelakaelin.hubpages.com/hu...enting-and-Treating-Diseases-in-Cats-and-Dogs

When used for eyes or ears in this fashion, the colloidal silver should be 10ppm - 30ppm. Feralvr in an earlier post in this thread says that she takes the 500ppm colloidal silver she uses externally, dilutes it 10:1 (to 50ppm) with distilled water, and uses that in her cat's herpetic eye. The typical recommendation, however, is for a strength of 10 - 30ppm when used as an eye wash.

It's something he's had since I got him (4mos he's 18mos now). The other eye weeps sometimes but his left eye always runs. A lot after eating (I think because of the position of his head). I wipe it a few times a day which is fine, but he always has a big dark wet patch in the corner of his eye.

The vet said it could be a blocked tear duct (he wasn't sure), and said he could try and unclog it but he'd have to put him under. He advised that something like that isn't worth the risk of anesthesia and to wait until/if there is some other reason he needs general anesthesia. But other than wiping it, there was nothing else he could advise.

is there a certain amount of ppm you can only use for cat at a certain weight? Is their a limit for her to use a certain amount of part per unit for colloidal silver? I will be using this in conjunction with veterinarian antibiotics. I hope it still works. And I plan on using a dropper to give to her by mouth since she not enjoying to eat at the moment. She doesn't seem to mind me cleaning her mouth with infected gums but she has a hard time with me touching her eye and getting rid of her goupe. it works with clean wet rags and tissues though. But she has a vet visit today :-) So we'll hopefully be able to get everything we need there.
   Thank you.

There is obviously a lot of pro colloidal silver posts here, and while many things will kill bacteria etc in a test tube, that doesn't make them safe and effective in the boy of a human or a cat.  See links below for a different POV.

Will be using in conjunction with vet antibiotics. I will get word from doctor and have had other recent positive support for colloidal silver. I never noticed it in me but nor did I get sick. Colloidal silver is advertised for all ages of life. baby, teens, adolescent, adult and animals. So what do I know, but I am just looking for info. Thank you for the advice.

PS: oh yes I do remember the side effect of the blue skin that is irreversible. That is if consumed the wrong way. We all have to be careful with all medicines. EVEN if they are good for us. Too much of anything can hurt us. Even the good things.

I found looking into the mayoclinic site helpful. I will bring to my natural food store.

I've read CS is also good for feline acne, as well as gingivitis. Anyone care to confirm? I just bought a bottle of Natural Sources 30ppm dropper bottle. I rubbed some on my cats skin (fur). We'll see...

I've never used CS internally. I buy 500ppm colloidal silver to use topically. When a cotton ball soaked with CS was dabbed on my cat's acne, it cleared up almost overnight. Whenever I use it for anything topical, I apply it 4x a day.

Hello,

my name is Adele. We live in Spain with more than 20 former stray cats and 8 dogs ...

I work over 20 years with holistic medicine for animals and made very good expierences!

Because a lot of people do not know, how they must dosage collodial silver (50 ppm) for animals  - here my recommendation: 0,06 fl. oz per 2,2 pound (lb).

Cat with 6,6 lb = 0,2 fl. oz.

Cat with 11 lb = 0,33 fl. oz.

Give it twice a day - in the morning and evening

You can give it in two ways:

- with a syringe (without needle) in the mouth. Mix it with 0,3 fl. oz. (or more!) normal drinking water.

This is not optimal (normally it's better to give it pure), but treating animals is different to human treatments.

Collodial silver works over the oromucosal and (significant) over the colon (synthetic antibiotics work also in the colon).

And the small amount of collodial silver which you can give to small animals like cats will not reach the colon fast enough. It will be absorbed in advance and can not work correctly / effective. So, its better to mix it with water, that you have more liquid. This is very important.

- the best way is to give it with some wet food. Mix a teaspoon of food with the silver and as much water, your cat will drink. Do NOT use a metal spoon or a metal bowl. Silver should not come in contact with metal, otherwise it loses its electric charge and no longer works!

Storage your collodial silver dark and  far away from electrical household appliances.

If your cat is only mildly ill, you can use collodial silver in 25 ppm, but in all other cases use 50 ppm.

It''s also possible, that your cat

I hope, I could help.
