I had  a feral female and a male tom fixed. They both had the exact same meds. Revolution

and Droncit Feline for tapeworm. The female is fine but the male has diarrhea. Is that normal?

De-wormers can cause diarrhea in some cats. It's nothing to do with neutering. If it doesn't clear up in a couple days, give the vet a call.

I also could be stress from the day at the vet and the surgery. Try giving some Probiotics mixed in wet food for a few days as this might help with his tummy. Most of us just use people OTC counter probiotics in the capsule. It is very safe and will help with the diarrhea. And if they were positive with worms, some diarrhea is expected until they are cleared. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

I gave him pet pectin last night and this morning but he is still runny. He exploded all over his blanket last

night. Yuk. Is there a certain diet I should be feeding him? Should I wait to release him til his diarrhea clears up?

Also what is the best time to release him. I was thinking in the evening when its cooler. Or should it be late

at night. I just don't want to put him out there feeling sick. I want him to be at his peak.

BTW, he eats really well.

I would release him now. With males, we usually release the same day after about five hours and they are completely awake. He is probably quite stressed and it would be best to let him go, if that was your intent in the first place :D. Just make sure you keep up with the food and water outside. A feral feeding station. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

I called the vet and he said the same thing. He is stressed and I kept him too long. I did release him. He was happy to go.

BTW that cat weighed 10 1/2 lbs. That was one big Tom cat. The female is only 7 lbs. They guessed them both to be

between 1 and 3 years old.

Oh good :hugs: Best thing if the orginal plan was to "return" outside after the neutering. I am so happy you were able to get them both done. Good job!!!:clap::clap:
