Last Days Propehecy

Does anyone believe that we are living in the "last days" when Jesus will appear on Earth and come for his chosen people. And about how the antichrist will rule the Earth and the United Nations will be in his power? I hope this thread isnt innapropiate... I am not a religious Zealot but reading some magazines and books on the subject got me to wondering.

I was always fascinated with Revelations and have read it many times over.

My personal opinion is that the old addage is true: You see what you want to see. If you are looking for the end times, you will see the signs. They have been seeing them since they were written down.

The part that always stood out to me was that "No one will know when it will happen." (paraphrased) Pretty much puts the people who say "The world will end this year!" out of business.

I choose not to worry about that - if the world ends, it ends, but I very much doubt it is any time soon.

Besides at the rate of human destruction, I wouldnt be surprised if it is humans who do it.

I hope you havent been reading the Globe and Star magazines, they seem to always have end of the world stories and nostradamus prophecies. I dont care much for those - I ignore it and get on with my life.

No, I don't believe that we are living in the "last days". This idea has been brought up many times during human history, especially during significant times (the first millenium, and the recent millenium we just went through) and nothing has happened. Personally, I believe that the Bible has been through so many translations and interpretations it's impossible to put a date on any of the prophecies that are in it. As Heidi said, you'll find something if you're looking for it.

Our World is hurting, that is appearant, but no, I don't think we're in our last days.

Honestly, I don't read too much into "end of days".

People see what they want, it will always be that way.

I believe we are in the last days or end times .... meaning every thing is fulfilled what was said in the bible what need to be fulfilled .... So Jesus Christ can come any time now .... and I don't have a problem with Him comming back

the end of time doesn't bother me. I think if you prepare your soul and live each day like it's your last you don't have anything to worry about.

I have a feeling that it won't happen while I'm alive though, because nothing cool ever happens to me.. lol.. You have to admit, it would be kinda cool to be the last humans on the earth and to live through the end.. I'm prepared for my faith to be tested

I had a feeling you were readin those whern I read your post. I've read the whole series, and the next (and Last) one is due out on 2004...

But it made me wonder as well, but I don't think we're anywahere near the end of times yet...

I am not religious, but my husband knows all about this stuff because he went to church. A lot of it, to be honest, kind of makes me uneasy So, I prefer not to even discuss it.

Growing up in a Pentecostal home, I was constantly told that we're living in the endtimes. Of course, anything is open to interpretation: the Bible, Nostradamus, etc. With the Bible, you have to factor in mistranslations and the personal biases of the editors/translators. As for Nostradamus, there have been so many bogus "prophecies" attributed to him and, hindsight being 20/20, one can assign numerous meanings to him.

Jean Dixon takes the prize, though. AFTER John and Bobby Kennedy were killed, she wrote in a book: "I predicted that." She has claimed to have seen a vision of the Antichrist being born but she can't seem to see where or when. In 1969, she predicted a huge earthquake would sink southern California into the Pacific, around Easter. For good or ill, its still there.

Well I live everyday like it is my last - to the fullest. I don't know when I wake in the morning if it will be my last or not and I don't want to regret anything missed. But to answer your question, no - I don't think that now is the time.

I dont know when the world will end, but it wont be dealing with anything religious. The only reason there really is religion is because its basically the only hope the human race has to expiriencing after life, and thats why its so popular.
We are eventually just gunna get slaughtered by an asteroid, other natural cause, or we're just gunna blow ourselves up with nuclear missles. Then(no offense reliogous people) we're just gunna die and rot in the ground and be written about in history books ions of years ahead. And their gunna think Pokemon cards are pictures of animals in "the human era"

I do kind of think that we are living in the last days. Most of what it says in the Bible of all that will be happening is pretty much happening. I don't really think all of it has happened though. It does say that nobody will know when the world will end. It will come when we are not expecting it. I don't really worry about it though. I figure that my life is in God's hands. I try to give my worries to him.

I was once told that there is a verse somewhere in Revelations that says something similiar to this: In the end times, mankind's greatest tool will be taken from him.
IMO, our greatest tool would be our technology.

I do not think that these are the 'last days'... Barring that we get hit by a meteor whatever else happens life will prevail... It may not be life as we have come to know it, but life, will prevail.

Yeah its hard to disagree with reality and whats happening around the world, we're certainly in the last days, but not any where near the end of the world.

Well i never read the bible but my dad did. I asked him and he said that its not in the bible and he was never told about it (in church) so i'd say no. I do believe it will be mankind who will end things by polluting our world.
