my 6 year old male cat is very sick. Basically since the day i got him 6 years ago if he ate a meal that was to big he would vomit it up this happened maybe once a month. In the last two to three weeks he has being vomiting alot more especially in the last 10 days he has vomited up his food at least twice a day. He used to be a lovely big cat weighing 4.5. Today  brought him to the vet his temperature was normal but his weight has gone down to 3.8. She said he feels very gasey and his stomach is tender. she gave him a shot of anti vomiting medicine and some medication to bring home to give to him. she also but him on a diet of royal canin sensitive control which he has being able to keep down so far.

I have to bring him back if he keeps vomiting to check for and serious conditions she said she will give him an x ray and take bloods.

Has anybody ever experience anything like this before as i am  very worried something more serious could be wrong with him?

I've replied to your thread in the health forum. But this could be many things.

He could be blocked with something: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/245013/4-year-old-male-cat-very-lethargic-wont-eat-wont-drink-vomiting

He could have cancer - as you've already seen in BarbB's thread about Toby (I don't think you took time to read through the thread, but he was diagnosed with cancer back in May and has been receiving chemotherapy).

Like my cat - he could have ulcers and/or cancer.

He could have inflammatory bowel disease. http://www.ibdkitties.net

He could have developed allergies.

If blood work was not done (is he anemic? Are there inflammation markers?), it should be. If imaging of any kind was not done, it should be. At a minimum, an x-ray or ultrasound to see if there are any blockages or masses. Lazlo's ulcers weren't detectable on x-ray, but were visible on ultrasound. Sometimes an endoscopy is recommended over an ultrasound.

Without more information - that either you haven't shared with us or you don't have yet - there is no way to know how best to proceed.

Is he eating food that is on the pet food recall from Diamond foods?

http://diamondpetrecall.com/

Is he eating kibble?  Sometimes I've noticed that kibble causes my cat to vomit.  Not sure if there is a link or if this is something related to my one cat.  Doesn't seem to happen with canned food.

What brand / flavor / etc of cat food are you feeding?

What did you vet tell you today.  It sounds like he needs some tests, bloodwork, etc and check for blockages.
