Hello everyone. One month ago My partner and I rescued five orphaned kittens at about one week of age. They are now five weeks old, potty trained, eating well and active. Unfortunately they have all recently acquired some pretty bad diarrhea . Possible culprits being intestinal worms or maybe Coccidia. When I contacted the Humane Society and merely asked the woman if she had any suggestion as to what I could do or where to turn, she responded "You could bring them here to me and sign them over for euthanasia?" I nearly cried at just the thought. We are fostering these kittens solely out of compassion and humanity but sadly do not have enough funds for the medication and fecal testing required to return all five kittens to adoptable health. Estimated cost being roughly $220. Anyone willing to help in any way would be an absolute blessing. Eventually, we would like to find loving homes for the babies once back in good health and each one spayed and/or neutered. If anyone would like to help get these little guys healthy again please check out the link to our kitten fundraiser. Thank you!

Bless you for caring for these little babies. How sad that the Humane society told you that on the phone. That is just so wrong. :( I wonder if you could keep making calls and find a local rescue or TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) organization to help you and give you some assistance. Just keep making those calls and hopefully you will find a place to help. You could even foster them for one of these organizations until they are ready to be adopted. I hope you can find such a place. Here is a great kitten website that might help you with caring for them. http://www.kitten-rescue.com/ Best of luck to you and these babies. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

From the Mod Team Regarding Pleas for money:

Cats are a huge responsibility. Anyone who thinks otherwise, should not have one in their life. They are dependent on us for everything from providing a place to eat, to also providing vet care.

Anyone who has cats knows that they can and do get ill. Your best defense is to plan for that to happen before it does, and store monies away in preparation.

If you read about a plight of an animal on the internet and your heart is drawn to help. Check out the story thoroughly. Google the vet's name or call Directory Assistance in the city and be sure this is a legitimate claim.

Do not blindly send money into a paypal account no matter how heart-wrenching the story. Instead reach out to the member and ask for the vet's name and phone number, and arrange to send the money there for the specific needs of the cat in question.

If that information cannot be provided- you have your answer. Report the post to a moderator so that it can be removed for not being on the level.
