While using google to research Petsmart's premium house brand Simply Nourish cat food & what company actually makes it, the search lead me to some postings on TCS dated 5/15/11 titled" new cat food at petsmart," I read all of the replies and had a deja vu moment.Reply posts # 8 & 15 were of a special quality that seemed oddly familiar to me. I still haven't been able to find out who makes Simply Nourish & calling Petsmart"s customer service would only read back to me a carefully worded reply without divulging any useful info. It would be nice to know what pet food co. is manufacturing the wet & dry food.

I don't know if they still contract with Menu, but here's the Wikipedia that indicates Petsmart conracts with Menu: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menu_Foods
Thank you, I had figured that the Authority brand from petsmart was probably a Menu foods product. I had hoped that the new " upscale " brand  Simply Nourish was a Weruva stepchild. I just didn't think that Menu foods would turn out a product that looks so good, real meat chunks, shredded chicken, side by side it looks & smells like Weruva & Weruva"s stepchild petco"s house brand Soulistic.

A company like Menu Foods just produces what the customer specifies. They don't come up with the ingredients list themselves.

It's nearly impossible to get straight or direct answers.  I did notice however that the distributor is in Phoenix and  it is 'made in Ecuador'.

I have a can of pork flavor that does not state anything about where it is made. It has the Phoenix address for distribution. I also have a freeze dried chicken package that states it is made in the U.S.

I can't find any info on this "company" either and I'd like to be able to contact them- I opened a can of Tuna & Chicken Stew cat food this morning & was struck by a strong unpleasant chemical odor. I did not feed it to my cats & the empty can still smells very chemical. I can take it back to Petsmart, but I'd like to be able to contact the manufacturer directly.
