I recently brought a 5-month old kitten into my home who I adopted from the local SPCA. She is a lively bounce of fur and for the most part has settled down comfortably in her safe-room (formerly my bedroom). However, while she has been eating well and drinking enough, she hasn't defecated in her litter-box at all. She urinates fine and she is not sensitive or sore around the stomach when I touch it. She was sterilised at the SPCA before I picked her up, so am not sure how worried I should be that she is going nearly 48 hours without pooping.

That's not too unusual.  However, a vet checkup may be called for if she doesn't go today.
