Yesterday morning we just couldn't find Angel anywhere.    We knew she had to be in the house because neither of us had opened the front door--- and she's not a runner even if we had gone outside (and of course we're always super careful).  Anyway, we tore the house apart looking for her for around 45 minutes.     So frustrating!  Then I walked into the offrice --- for at least the 6th time - to look in here again and I looked up at the computer desk hutch.  There was that little face sitting in a cubby hole on the top of the hutch  just a few inches big looking out at us --- and I could swear she was laughing at us!!   Why don't cats come when you call them?     That cat is always disappearing and we find her in the oddest places!

That's happened to us, too. When I find her (it's always Nina), she'll look at me like I'm nutz.

LOL!  They want to keep us on our toes!  And remind us who is in charge!

Noodles is good at hiding sometimes.  She is like shadow-gray so she blends in so well!!

I think they sit there, laughing at us running around like we've lost our minds.

About 2 weeks ago Parker didn't come up for breakfast, so I immediately went to look for him. I looked EVERYWHERE he could possibly be then started freaking out. I went to check the bedrooms a second time, turned around and he was sitting in the hall looking at me. I was like "WHERE WERE YOU?". He just meowed and went to eat.

I'm glad she found you!!

Mollipop does that. She has a hidey-hole somewhere in the house and I'll be dog-gone if I can find out where it is. But there will be times when I can't find her. I'll look everywhere and Rick will even look for her. And she's no where.

I call her, "Molli! M-O-L-L-I!!" (I am thankful that when I call a cat, that cat will usually come. Not always, but most of the time, the cat will come to me. Sometimes, so does everybody else, but that's OK, too.)

Pretty soon, I'll look behind me and....there she is! Meowing at me. "What? What do you want?"

"Where were you?"

"Right here! What's your problem?"

*sigh* And I swear she's laughing at me. "Gotcha, Mom!"

I'd give anything to know where her hiding place is.

We had a foster kitten that had been a feral.  She was very good at hiding.  She would disappear somewhere in the house, and I could NOT find her anywhere.  She would eventually come out, but I never got a clue where she had been hiding.

Until, that is, some time after she had gone back to the shelter.  I was doing some cleaning in my wife's office, and I happened to notice the little "cat condo" by the window.  The opening in it faced the wall, but when I checked inside, sure enough, there was quite a bit of white hair.  THAT was where she had been hiding!

Oh I get so freaked when that happens. The only kitties of my six that really come when called or at least MEOW when called are Pipsqueak and Walden. :lol3: I always panic when I can't find someone in their usual spot. Glad that Angel was found in that little cubby hole. She probably was laughing at you coming and going looking for her. :lol3:

That's so cute,  "She was playing hide & seek."  She just forgot to tell you guys!  Silly girl!

I have to watch for my Angel when I have the closet door open. He likes to sneak in there, & hop up on a shelf.

One day I was starting to panic, not being able to find him either, & I opened the closet door, & there he was! Looking at me like,

"what took you so long?"  "What's up?"  He must have snuck in when I had my back turned.
