The last few days I have noticed a decrease in how much Delilah will eat. She is eating 1/4 to 1/2 of what she would normally eat. She is excited at meal times too and begs for her food and races to her place when I am finished and will dig in but just stop shortly afterwards. I have noticed her drinking a bit more and in turn peeing more. But other than that she is completely normal. She runs and plays and cuddles up with me and purrs. I'm not sure if I am making nothing into something just because of her history?

She is eating 1/4 to 1/2 to what she was eating before? That's a huge drop :(
Have you tried a different food? Enticing her with a topper? feeding her more often?
Didn't Delila just have her shots a few days ago? Could this be a reaction to it? Have you called the vet? Did this start right after the shots?:vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

I think it is natural to worry about ba cat eating only half the amount of food she usually does after managing to eat a good amount of food every day. I don't think you are worrying too much about a kitten with a long medical history for her age.

Is she still much smaller and harder to feed than Penelope?

I don't have any suggestions.  Just sending good vibes your way.  I've followed Delila and Penelope's progress all along and just hope that there is nothing wrong with the sweet girl.

I have tried everything with her, she ate well for dinner last night but, she only ate half of breakfast again. She did get her shots 1 week ago, but the not eating as well didn't start until a few days ago, I wasn't going to worry about it too much but she has continued. The vet opens soon so I will call them and see what they think.

She is still smaller than Penelope but I don't see that changing too much anytime soon, they are both growing so naturally they will keep the size difference for a while. Delilah has never been harder to feed than Penelope (at least not since she started eating on her own) but she is pickier on what she wants to eat. But as far as eating well Delilah has not been any harder than Penelope.

I hope it is nothing too, I'm going to call the vet here soon.
Is she still gaining weight?
How old is she now?
I have not weighed her since she was in for shots last week. She has been gaining though and was just under 2lbs at our last visit. She is 4 months old now. (17 weeks)d

Could it be behavioural at all? One of my cats will get really picky now and again, and sometimes to get her to eat I have to stand beside her so she know's I'm there, she's a really territorial cat and often will get annoyed if my other two cats are around since sometimes they steal her food and are really pushy.

Another thought: could she be getting hormonal? We had a one year old who would eat just the amount you explained while she was going through heat (I know Delilahs still quite young, but I thought I'd mention is just in case) and after she was spayed her eating went back to normal.

If she's not eating enough during her scheduled meals I would try feeding her more frequently during the day so she doesn't start to lose weight or develop fatty liver.

Keep us posted on her progress

I took Delilah into the vet today. I think her not eating as well is because she has a URI again. It is probably related to receiving her vaccine recently. She is runny nosed and sneezy often from the way her nose is, so I didn't think there was anything wrong until her eye was goopy this morning. We are back on antibiotics again, Doxycycline this time, so it will be easier on her system than Clavomox. She has tobramycine for her eye. We also got some Lysine from the vet as well. Now that I know what is wrong with my baby again we can hopefully get back over this quickly.

Will her nose always be that way? Did the vet say there is no way to fix it? I can't remember what messed it up.

Four months old is the earliest a queen can get pregnant, so I will be happy when she is big enough (2-3 pounds) to get spayed.

At least it is something she will be over soon. The great thing about us getting doxy this time is it stays good for a few months so if her last vaccine in 3 weeks causes another flare up we already have enough for then too.

Her nose will always be deformed it fell off a few months ago after bing random swelling for weeks. There is really no way to fix it, just manage the swelling that happens in it with steroids.

She just reached the 2lb mark but we are not fixing her until the vet thinks she is healthy and big eneough to handle the surgery. She is not at risk of getting out so there is no rush.

Emily, what the.... ???? How is this appropriate in any way in this thread? :confuse2: She's not an indoor-outdoor cat, her meowmy rescues and knows what she's doing - just what is there about a risk here that concerns you?

I don't even know how to respond to this.... But please Emily.... Next time, when you don't know a kitty's history, try to look it up before posting.... So it doesn't sound insensitive.... Imho it's not too much to ask....

Again, Emily, I am going to have to ask you to please be more sensitive and considerate when you respond to member's here on TCS. AND do please get history on a kitty before making posts and comments. At times, your posts come off as quite rude and inappropriate.

AW hun... :hugs: I am just catching up here with our little Delilah :rub: :heart2: AWWWWWWW bless her and yours little hearts. :hugs: Absolutely agree with your vet in waiting to spay her. There is no rush with this little angel. She has been through so much. You and your vet know best as to when she will be strong enough for surgery or even her second set of kitten vaccines. Just sending along truckloads and truckloads of vibes, rubs, kisses and hugs!!!!!!! We ALL love you and your little Delilah :hugs: :rub:  :vibes: :hugs: :rub:  :vibes: :hugs: :rub:  :vibes: :hugs: :rub:  :vibes: :hugs: :rub:  :vibes: :hugs: :rub:  :vibes: :hugs: :rub:  :vibes: :hugs: :rub:  :vibes: :hugs: :rub:  :vibes: :hugs: :rub:  :vibes:
