Hi everyone!

Also new to this forum, so an introduction is in order. My name is Eva. I live in the Netherlands with my four cats and rabbit. English is not my native language, so excuse me if I make mistakes.

Let me introduce my animals:

Mya and Zeya are two Burmese sisters from the same litter. They turned 2 last april:

I also call them the twins, since they look so much alike. In the photo Mya is on the left and Zeya is on the right. Both are very active, social and playfull cats. They love to curl up together, often in heaps like this:

The third cat in the picture is Lara. Lara was found on the street when she was only a couple weeks old. I adopted her from a shelter. She'll celebrated her first birthday last May. Lara is also a very social and playful cat. This is what she lookes like when she's not covered under Burmese cats

In this picture Lara is playing with Noortje. Noortje was also rescued from the streets. She turned two this january and has been living with me since she was nine months old. I've seen Noortje come a long way over the last year or so. In the beginning I could not pick her up and stuf like that. Now she comes to sleep on my lap and she has learned to play with other cats. Noortje is very large for a female cat and does not understand her own strength

Yes, this used to be a cathouse with a pointed roof before Noortje stood on it.

The last member of the household is Stuiter.

Stuiter is about four years old. He and the cats get along quite well. I always get the impression the cats would rather live in Stuiter's cage than anywhere else

Welcome to TCS!  Your fur-family is beautiful!  Great pics!  Lara looks like the kitty that comes to birdwatch in my backyard (and hunt...).  I think "Poppy" as I call him/her is just a little bit lighter.

Hello and welcome to TCS!

Love your photos and pussycats (and rabbit!).

They are hilarious, all piled into Stuiter's abode.  Does Stuiter go and snuggle up in the kittyhouse?

And Noortje is stunning.. quite rare to have such a large ginger girl.

Thanks!

Stuiter does try to snuggle with them, which is a signal for the cats to start playing. He is not afraid of them at all:

Very occasionally they wash him as well

That's amazing.  Mya SO wants Stuiter to play.  What a patient bunny!

Yes, he is! I am so proud of him. In the beginning he was scared of the cats, but now it goes really well.

I am so impressed that your friends all like each other I have never had that degree of harmony among all my pets over many years and many pets how did you do it

I am also a new cat on the block I have a siamese and a torty both came from the same feral cat siamese tries to play and the torty thinks he is annoying

just wanted to say hello after looking in on you

Thank you Helen! I guess I had loads of luck and a little bit of wisdom

The Burmese were my first cats and a very social breed. When I got my third cat I fell in love with her character. I thought she would fit the sisters perfectly. This is the same way I chose my fourth cat, I thought her character would fit perfectly as well.

Another thing I did was scatter their resources (litterboxes, cat beds, cat trees, water bowls) around the house. They can avoid each other if they want to. Strangely enough they all are always on the same floor as I am. I provided them high places to sit and a cat proofed garden to explore. I play with them almost every day. They are never bored it seems.

Recently Lara and Noortje did have a fight. Now that I have arranged things in a way that Lara cannot bother Noortje while she is eating, everything seems to return to the earlier harmony.

Hand picking would make a difference I got almost every pet because it needed a home.  I never planned it and that would make a difference.  I found a cat a couple of years ago and knew he was really loving and great but the two I have would have been trying to get rid of him everyday and I knew it wouldn't work so my daughter took him in and he was a perfect fit not sleeping in a pile perfect but  keeping in their own sleeping space perfect.  He is a Japanese bobtail and I have never met a cat like him a real character.

that is how George sleeps on the back  Sweety is on the left and Boo is on the right That is pretty harmonious
