Hi guys, I'm new here, but was hoping for some insight on lily leaves. First off, I am not even sure the flower is a lily. It's pink, was bought in an arrangement with maybe 12 total flowers (including a dyed blue flower of some sort) in the grocery store a week ago.
Knowing I have 2 cats, I kept them in the bathroom at night with the door closed. Well this AM after I brought them out while I was eating my breakfast I noticed my slick, fast and naughty cat had pulled the pink bunch out of the vase. I didn't notice any missing chunks on the leaf, but did notice teeth marks. I looked online and saw symptoms may be visible within 2-6 hours, or some not at all. He has ate, drank, slept, played, all normal. No vomiting. I called the vet and scheduled an apt for an exam and kidney panel.
I'm not sure they are lilies. I'm also wondering basic flower info here - can they lose their potency as they begin to wilt? The flowers were losing pedals and the leaves were becoming a grimy green.
Has anyone had this happen to them? Is there anything I can do until the vet appointment?
SInce he didn't ingest the leaf, does that make a difference?
Thanks guys.
