Mole removal. Anyone had this happen? (tiny bit gross maybe)

A few weeks ago I had several moles and a cyst removed.  3 were on my face (I looked purty with band aids all over it..lol).  All have healed enough that they aren't bothering me except one; the biggest.  But the other day I thought it was good to go without the band aid.  All the adhesive is making me itch sooo bad and I still have a ring around one of the other ones from it and I'm at least a week out from when that one didn't need a band-aid anymore.

Unfortunately I can still feel the mole over 2 of them; including the big one.  Or so I thought.  The big one has been itching again.  Tonight, without thinking, I reached up and lightly scratched it...and fluid came out.  Not blood or puss or anything; just fluid.  I cleaned it imediately after that and put the Vaseline and another band aid on like my dermatologist had me doing before.

With the band aid on I can't tell how much it deflated; but thats what it feels like it did.  Anyone had something like that happen before?  I need to call them for my biopsy results tomorrow anyway.  But I just thought this is weird.  Any ideas if that is normal or anyone know why that might happen?

I'm wondering whether you have an allergy to the band-aids.  I have to use cotton wool and a bandage instead (but that is not going to work on your face!). It's hard to tell from what you've said whether you were using a band-aid over the one with fluid, but if you had, that would be my guess. And it's a good sign (not so worrying) that the fluid was clear.

Of course you can ask when you ring for the biopsy results.

Good luck!

This is going to sound like an odd request, but it's impossible to really determine much based on description alone.

Can you take a picture of the concerning wound and post a picture?

I've had a mole removed on my back, and on my neck (mosly because my young neices keep picking at it and pointing it out, I finally had it cut out!!). I had an allergic reaction to the band-aid on my neck.. itched like crazy!! I wound up using gauze and gauze tape (less attractive) instead of band-aids and it helped. I used cortisone cream on the affected area of my neck.

I never had anything ooze out though. maybe you had a blister form from the bandaid allergy?

Hm that could be!  I have had reactions to the gauze tape when they do bloodwork.  The bandaids I have are supposed to be sensitive band aids but tell that to my face!  It's been just over 3 weeks since I had them removed.  It actually feels less itchy since it burst and the way it did reminds me of a blister too.  I have it bandaged right now with antibiotic ointment.  I'll see if I can take a picture tonight of that one.

OH my husband and I both had some "moles" frozen off of our faces recently. They do turn into ugly blisters and can itch. I did take a few weeks for everything to heal up without a trace. We had a re-check with the dermatologist also. I would call if you are concerned though. Really could be the bandaid. We didn't use them!

Hmm.  He cut and burnt mine off.  It stunk quite literally!

I have had  A DAY.... So I haven't gotten around to taking pictures of my face...or even looking at it.  Oy.  One kid to bed one half napping in his swing. Laundry occupying half my bed, DH the other....

OUCH! Yeah - I heard that is not the fun way to get them removed. Although, the dried ice really, really stings too. I :cringe: thinking about it. Feel better and hope the evening brings you some much needed rest :lol3: Your turn to nap!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cross: :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

I didn't feel a bit of pain during the procedure.  They numbed me up good!
Today it definitely looks like there was a bit of a blister on it and it's now all deflated and flat looking again.  I'm just keeping it covered for a bit.  The red on the other one is finally gone too.  But now I can see I have a circular tan line where that band aid was...  I wear a moisturizer with SPF and I haven't been intentionally in the sun without it but I guess I still got some color!

And last night...  I slept on the floor of DS's room on the couch cushions!  I didn't want to bother DH or that pile of laundry.  So DS got his first night in his crib.  He slept good for the first 4 hours and so did I.  Then he was restless for about 4 more before I got up for good and he zonked out peacefully for another hour.  Got up and ate, played for a while and then took himself a good peaceful nap.  Unfortunately his sister was up by then!  Ah Mommyhood!
