Hi Everyone. My name is Christine. I found your website while searching about cats on line. I am an avid cat lover. I currently have three beautiful girls. Holly who is three now, Madison just turned two and Corey is a year old. All of my girls were rescues and stories within themselves.

My Holly  came into my life on Christmas three years ago. I just moved into my own apartment two weeks before Christmas for the first time. I had ended a long relationship and was living on my own for the first time. I had my cat Six that I had taken with my from my ex. He kept all my other furry friends in agreement. Six was only attached to me and was depressed when I was no longer living with my ex. I decided once I moved into my apartment that he never was alone and wanted to get another cat to keep him company while I was not home. My mom searched around for kittens to get me one for Christmas. On Christmas day she presented me with my baby girl. Her story is that someone left her outside in a box with her brother in front of our local petsmart overnight in 6 degree temperatures. The vets inside petsmart checked her out and when my mom called they said they happened to have her and were going to turn her over to animal control unless she wanted to come pick her up. When my mom picked her up they said she seems to have some slight trauma and my mom noticed she walked a little funny. She took her in anyway because she didn't want to turn her away to the animal control. It was instant love when I got her. Long story short, Holly was abused in some way as a kitten. She has an underdeveloped lower lip, her back legs are not strong, and she has seizures while she sleeps. The vet believes it was from some type of head trauma as a kitten. Holly is doing very well and they said if I didn't take her in, she most likely would have been euthanized. She is the most affectionate baby in the world. All she loves to do is sit in my lap and be wrapped in a blanket and sleep. She doesn't realize her disabilities such as her clumsiness and inability to jump high, but it doesn't stop her from being my little girl.

The following November I lost my cat six two days after thanksgiving, I came home and my routine was to pick him up and hold him like a baby and he would purr and rub my face. That day he did and then suddenly passed away in my arms. they said from a massive heart attack. It destroyed me. I already had a cat with problems and was afraid of losing her. The following May my boss came in and told me about kittens rescued from a shelter in New Jersey that were going to be put down. I saw the picture of Madison and said give me her. She is very passive and sweet. So gentle and petite little girl. She loves playing with bubbles and goes crazy for those temptation treats...

Corey I got last year while my sister began fostering kittens. My sister ended up keeping her other sister Topenga and my mom has her brother Minkus.. We ended up adopting the litter because we couldn't give them up. She is very playful and curious, loves to play fetch with paper and likes to talk to you when you call her name.. Her favorite thing to do is belly rubs.

I began fostering kittens last year and the three I have now are my 12,13, 14th I have fostered since December. I love to do it and have gotten my friends to help foster cats and kittens now as well. Especially this season with the mild winter the rescue groups are overwhelmed and we found out that shelters are putting kittens down in as little as 72 hours due to the amount coming in. The three I have now were rescued out of a wall with another two from the  litter. They were all underweight and one is still at vets and needs to have his eye removed. It sickens me sometimes of the pics that come up of what neglect of people are doing to these cats they are dumping in the feral colonies that they take care of. Anyway that I can help save a life of a precious little angel, i will do my best. I thank anyone for reading my posts and god bless all cat lovers in the world.... Look forward to interacting with everyone....

All the best from Staten Island...

Welcome to TCS!  We are glad to have you and your precious babies here!  I've always wondered how often the employees of Petsmart and stores like that come in to work to find animals that have been dumped there during the night.
