Clomicalm for cats

Hi, I'm desperately looking for an answer here!

I started giving my cat Clomicalm (or Clomipramine) as the vet told us it would help keep her calmer and not attack a kitten we've taken in. The problem is it's caused her to have diarrhea. Will this stop soon or should I halt the medication instead?

She's got the regular side effects, lethargy and dialated pupils but we were assured those were only temporary as her body adjusts to the medication. We're setting an appointment with the vet but would like to know other's experiences with this.

No experience with Clomicalm, but I'm wondering how you introduced the new kitten to your household. I can't imagine using a psychoactive drug on cat for what is essentially normal feline behaviour. Perhaps a better idea would be to keep the kitten separate for now while you do an extremely gradual reintroduction:
